Well actually my goal on this was only on the chitin and to a lesser extent the skin, but step by step style, and that way if someone wanted to critque me, they could say where I fouled up

well I got these from ebay, both the jump marines and the Guants, and they were already painted, Heavily, so...
I stripped them, but the primer wouldnt come off, and I tried to lightly reprime one, but it didnt come out so good,
so mold lines o nthe practice models is the price I have to pay,

so what you loose some primer just file the bit off and paint over it big deal i do it all the time even when i prime it myselfe and miss spots lol

I\'m a little bit of a noob when it comes to some techniques. Can you explain why your started with a gray drybrush and then built up from there? Or are you planning to do that when you add descriptions?

Thanks,
Mark

I am guessing but I assume it would be a ready made highlight. The paint in the black areas will be darker than that which is covering the drybrushed bit.

It is for the highlighting purposes, also it allows for any areas that get missed to be automaticllay dark, while allowing for nice and bright colors

Base Color

I just joined the sight and I\'m really digging all the cool ideas. I\'ve been priming my minis white for years. It seems I may have been making a critical error and not priming them in black. What are everyones thoughts on black vs white?

dpends on what you want you final outcome... black is better for darker colours and minis without skin white is better for minis with skin and yellows and brighter colorus as they cover white easyer... i personaly use gray primer.. also i find with grey it automaticly gives you some shading making it a tad easier to know where to place your highlights... and last.... welcomf to the forums :)
