How do you do the lur-verly neon efect I see on so many eldar, force weapons and necromunda figs?

I am trying to do a darkelf wizard with an open spellbook drawing magical strands from the page. I want it to look all eldrich and glowy. How and which colours work best for this? :)???

I think you\'re referring to Object Source Lighting, abbreviated here as \"OSL\". There are a few articles written on it, here\'s one: http://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/328

Really, I would suggest two things: Search the forums here and read as much as you can about OSL here, and save a few pics of models that have it done well.

Secondly, practice on a scrap model first. You\'ll learn 10 times more that way, and you won\'t risk screwing up a potentially awesome idea. I speak from experience...

No, I was after some tips on how to do that fluorescent light sabre-y look to things that makes for cool glowy buttons and energy weapons etc...
And wanted some advice on which colours work best (most convincing) for this.

I will try to find some pics of what I mean. ;)

that IS osl. im not very good, but....this might be the type of thing you are talking about (the visor).
there are many more striking examples by artists much more talented than i. if you want some good reference photos id be more than happy to point you in the right direction.

as far as which colors work best, just about anything can be done (even white light). personaly i find electric blues, and neon greens to be the easiest. reds arent bad, just so long as you do them on a dark base color (or they end up looking pinkish if you arent careful).
