My question is, can anyone reccomend a good cabinet? I live in teh UK and ikea sell oneIkea cabinet

Hey there! That\'s great you\'re starting to get a rowdy crew of finely painted minis to display. I found the best thing out there are those model car display boxes you can buy at hobby shops or at craft stores. If I can find any online, I\'ll post the link here. You can also try on ebay. They come in a variety of sizes and will basically encase entire units of minis.

I hope this helps!

Ikea make these wall-mounted jobbies as well. They take up hardly any room and look great:

Holy cow! That\'s a very nice shelf and that\'s a ton of minis! I guess if you got something like that, that\'d force you to paint haha. Very nice :)

Hey Wilks, I know War Griffon uses those cabinets and is happy with them.
Personally I think that there\'s too much of a gap around the frontage which will allow dust in.
But in then end it\'s you who will be buying them so it\'s really your choice.

By theway when you say Office I take it you don\'t mean work office, but home office?

Years back I had to go with a cabinet that, like this, has gaps around the door that let in dust. FWIW the dust problem inside is not that bad and if you don\'t mind having to open up and dust every now and then - no more than once or twice a year - something like this will do. And it is a stylish cabinet.

I take all my figures out, dust the shelves down and then mostly blow the dust off the models and bases. If I feel they need it I dust the figures with a large squirrel-hair brush, which is nice and soft.

Edit: wanted to have a look for myself, here\'s a cabinet very similar to the one Spacemunkie posted:

Comes in black, silver and birch.

Yes I have two of those in the lounge :D I also have two wooden ones in the dinning room, dust wise its as Einion says, not that bad really unless you are a cleaning freak... in the 3 years that I have had mine I have only had to take out everything and dust it once and then it was mainly the shelves that needed more attention than anything else.

There is a lot of waisted space with the stand up cabinets like this though especially if you are only displaying 28mm mini\'s. I had a look around on Ebay and there is a company doing shop/cake display stands that come as self supporting and have two or three ledges made from perspex and work a treat for inside the cabinets plus if you ring them they will manufacture to size for you.

The bottom shelf is more or less a waist of space though so I use that for DVD\'s and CD\'s :D

I have several wall mounted ones in the bedroom I have converted as my studio also from Ikea :D

Thanks for the quick responses guys :)

I like the one spacemunkie and einion recommended, i need to convince the wife to let me take up that much space :)

I was worried about too much dust getting on my models because i found it hard to remove it... but einion had a good way to clean them so i think i will try this cabinet.

Ill take a pic when i get it from ikea (wife depending ofc)

Thanks again guys, really helped

Wilks.

@Dragonsreach - Yeah its my home office ha :) i think i would get funny looks if i started displaying them in work!

Aye, he\'s a big bugger that Rampage fella. Good thing is almost every fig made it over here in one piece. I think I have three that I removed or that broke from their bases and one with broken arms. Rest were fine and dandy!

I spent a packet on foam and ages cutting specific mini-shaped holes for them. Well worth it in the end though. :)

@ Einion: That\'s the one! Wish I\'d bought another one now and kept it flat-packed until I needed it....
