Hi guys, first post so I thought I would say hello and put myself out there, I have only just started painting 'properly' with some great mentoring from someone who posts here.
I play 40k but am venturing to different model manufacturers now I want to improve and develop my painting, once I get good with a camera I will hopefully be brave enough to post some of my work on here.
Thanks guys

Then if you are willing to listen, you will improve fast and a lot!

Nice one. Get stuck into what the place has to offer, articles, and a membership where hardly anyone smells of goat. :)

Yeah careful with that stepping away from GW thing - you have no idea how many nice minis there are out there...so many shiny new toys...so...many...

I have started by buying a model from Andrea Miniatures, a 28mm Horthak model, is such a beautiful mini, I want to try my hand at a bust after though so I am now on the search for one of them, this is my first time trying to paint to a showcase level, instead of my standard gaming stuff, as I think I am growing out of the gaming side and into the painting side

I hear ya. It's why I signed up too XD I will be selling off all my gaming stuff as I slowly become a cabinet painter. I just got a spacewolf bust from "freeman" as well as buying the board game relic from fantasy flight which i bought admittedly just for the cheap busts to use as warm ups for the high end ones like the one i got from Freeman.

I didn't realise how many nice ranges there was out there, until I slowed the gaming and about 5 minute search on the web and so many different ranges came up, I am a big fan of Andrea Miniatures and Nocturna so far, not a fan of some of the Kabuki range as I don't find the attraction in painting some bird half naked ready for war...

There are ton of neked babes ready for war out there. My wife assures me she would strip down to her breaches the minute there was a call to action :sarcastic: Statuesque miniatures has some really nice female sculpts and they are dressed functionally - you know just to help you empty your wallet a bit faster.

They are some nice female sculpts, I am not adverse to the female form, but I really do not understand why these women would be entering battle let alone in the state of undress that they do.
Thanks for helping me become broke even faster, there is so much that is doing that already
