osl is very effective on metallics, and, in fact, thats where i have generated the best effects. unfortunately i have only one pathetic example here , and the pics arent great. the key is very thin washes.

Shawn..no..you really don\'t want to see it.
It\'s nothing impressive. A lot of that time was redoing stuff that I messed up ... :D

eellllllooooo! I\'m a little disappointed. Several people were interested in learning but only one person wants to participate.

My sentiments exactly. Oh well, it was fun for the day or so it lasted.:(

I\'m thinking of painting a black legion marine with his bolter firing but I\'m a little unsure on what shape to sculpt the flash. Is there a realistic approach to this?

Make it look like this
MuzzleFastBig.jpg

Do a search at google for some other muzzle flash pictures and then try to match the real thing

The easyest way is to do an elongated teardrop with the fat end glued to the gun barrel. Scribe some lines into it so it\'s not perfectly smooth. If you can do it out of something like silicon sealant or something flexible it will save alot of breakage. Or put a wire thru the center.

These are a few muzzle falshes I have done.

are there any good examples of shadows being cast? seems to relate very closely to the concept of osl, but i cant racall having ever seen a dramatic shadow on a mini.

Thanks for the pic and links. ;) I don\'t want this class to end either. I\'m interested in this class but like most folk i can\'t totally commit myself to it due to time :( My wips will be slow in the making but i will be around here...somewhere.

Someone did Tiriel for the last chick challenge with the shadow of a dragon cast on the wall behind her. It was awesome, but I can\'t find it and the chick challenge website seems to be gone.
