Hi all been awhile since I really got back into painting, couple of house moves seemed to kill the hobby dead for me, but at last in my new home I have a "man" corner and I am able to set up again.

Saving the old pennies for new paints and brushes, so will have to make do with my old stuff, its a bit worn but at least I can get started.

The ME40 was perfect timing for me and I was really lucky and got a fantastic package, so lets start with a model from there:-

lovely model that I have never come across before, seems its a worker from a kings of war game, just love the model.

I hope this log will not only help to improve my painting, very rusty and wasnt that good anyway compared to the artists on here, but also help my photo skills, as my photos are always poor.

Got a couple of hours in last night, but not sure about how the skin is turning out, its still heavy wip and has a way to go ( the face is a little further on ) but I am thinking its not quite right even at this stage, so feedback or any tips would be good.

Also any tips on better photos or how to improve them, I only have my phone atm to take pics, but have asked santa for a new camera but I am guessing tips for better photos will work on both?

Anyway thought I would share my work space, sorry its so messy still sorting through everything and I am a messy pup anyway.

last bit of advice I could do with today is how to save my old paints, as you can see I bought a few but they are not doing so well now, being in storage so long was a bad thing here is a photo of the VMC paints and whats happened to about 90% of them:-

as you can see the paint as split, but the pigment has gone quite hard at the bottom, does that mean the paints are no good now or can they be saved? The GW ones either I could either save or not, a few dried up and I had to just bin them, hoping to save as much as I can so I have more time to save up for new paints and brushes while I get used to painting again.

Phew long post, thanks for reading!
