Hi all,

I recently to into painting and bought the Battle for skull pass and a fair whack of GW paints. After painting most of them and reading a lot of websites i bought some Vallejo Game colours.

I have noticed that i cannot get good coverage on the models .. even after a vigourous shake of the bottle! I also dont know what a good amount of water per paint ration is for these paints..

Any advice? I painted these Night Goblins over the past few months using games workshop paints (i work a lot so it takes me ages to finish!)

I havent finished any models using vallejo paints as i cant get used to them! :(

Cheers,

wilks.

Vallejo are designed to be painted on in multiple thin coats so don\'t worry if you can\'t get them \"right\" straight away.
I\'ve found that having a Hairdryer to hand does help with the drying between coats.

And the best solution...Practise, Practise, Practise.

I go for a 1:1 paint to water ratio with my vallejo paints and use prob about 3 to 4 coats to get the result I want. As DR said its all about practice and geting used to the paint.

Even with a good shaking, Vallejos can be horribly separated. Try dropping one or two \"agitators\" in the bottle (I use a piece of the metal tabs that slotta-base figures come on) and then shake a couple hundred times. Either that or pull the eyedropper end off of the bottle and stir them before shaking. Basically, once they are settled you need some serious mechanical action to get them homogeneous again, which will improve coverage.
