I have been trying for a while now to do NMM silver and gold but I have had no luck. I have looked for articles on which colours to use but none of them use games workshop paints. does anyone have any ideas which gamesworkshop paints can be used? ???

TIA

I usually use scorched brown as a base and then go over it with thinned leprous brown and to that progressivey add whit to that, but my metal always looks...off because I dont have a referance for how the light plays off the metal. Matt Verzani has a really good tutorial using GW colors (just thought of that one). Well thats my two cents for what its worth.

Try Vomit Brown as a base coat, Mix in Bleached Bone for the highlighting and work up to Skull white. You can use Snakebite leather as a wash to add shadow tonality.
Check out the articles section as there may be one in there.

Hope this helps.

Snakebite leather base highlighted with progressive layers of very thin sunburst yellow.Last layers lightened with white.Dark chestnut washes to define shade. This gives the base metal its shade and highlight you just need to layer on the light source with thin layers of white.Keep this simple by light sourcing the near camera edges.
Lugh with gold using this method.

With GW paints, I like to use Bestial, Vomit Brown and Skull White. Comes out pretty cool and it\'s how I started doing NMM Golds.
