No, I don\'t need assistance with the potential Alan Partridge show, more\'s the pity!

I\'m working on some ideas for a 54mm scale female mini at the moment (to tie in with Inquisitor stuff) and sketching out some concepts.

Anatomically everything is perfectly proportioned in them - eight heads high in total, four up to the crotch, five up to the belly button etc - and it\'s not looking right. From looking online at things like the female Inquisitor and death cult assassins I think the problem is they have far more caricatured shapes, with way more leg height than is realistically possible!

If I was at home I\'d check this myself, as I have all these minis, but I\'m at my parents with nothing but some wire, sculpy and tools, so I\'m at a loose end.

Is there a kind soul who owns any of these who could tell me the height of:

Ball of foot - crotch
Crotch - underside of boobies
Underside of boobies - top of shoulders
Top of shoulders - top of head
The head height

Pain in the arse I know, but it would be most appreciated.

Ta!

I went to a fancy dress party as \'Alan Partridge in fancy dress a zombie\' once. That comes highly recommend. It\'s so much fun!

You will get people coming up to you who have never watched I\'m Alan Partridge asking things like \'What\'s hanging between your legs\' and when you tell them it\'s a kettle flex tail they will lead you straight into the \'Alright, it\'s inconsistent\' line by telling you zombies don\'t have tails.

Meanwhile the people who do know the show generally know the lines and find the whole exchange rather entertaining.

The biscuits sellotaped to the face get rather sweaty after a bit of dancing though!

There\'s your problem right there. Look at any fantasy minis and you\'ll see they don\'t use any of the classic proportions. Besides that eight heads is just an ideal (in reality most people are quite a bit less, men included).

Sorry can\'t help with any of the measurements for Inquisitor stuff but maybe you could check images online for proportions?

Yeah, but I\'m not the greatest when it comes to drawing realistic body shapes, so it\'s good to have some rules to work with. As you say though, classic proportions aren\'t going to do the job here. If someone can just tell me the height of the Inquisitor minis (To the top of the head) then I can use pics on the GW store to work out what size everything should be. 54mm up to the eyes looks too small, despite what the scale is supposed to be. I have a feeling that they are a bit bigger than that.

Yeah, I spotted that page a little while back. It\'s handy but unfortunately doesn\'t help me in this situation because of my suspicion that the Inquisitor models don\'t actually adhere to this scale.

Thanks anyway.

Exaggerate. It\'s cheesy but make your female model slightly \"leggy\" and she will look much more ladylike. It\'s not realistic per se but it\'ll help emphasize her female nature compared to more bulky, stocky male figures.

No need to go with balloon boobs though, that actually makes a female model look less convincing IMO. Just making her visibly curvy will get that point across.

Actually as the mother of an anime artist.....

I can\'t tell you the heights but I can refer you to a book that can. Look for a book called \"How to Draw Anime\". There are a bunch of them but several just on the female form.

Most female minis may not have anime faces but are done using anime proportions. I whish I was at home. I\'d have my son give you a quick run down but I\'m stealing time here from work.

Hope that helps!

It\'s all good advice chaps, but I still really just need somebody to tell me the actual height of an Inquisitor mini, because I\'ve got it in my head that 54mm to the eyeline is way too small. That\'s all I need to get going again. Pretty please!

I would say... you browse some pics in google for example. that is probabl the best way imo :p

Inquisitor minis are sculpted to comic book standards, meaning they are 6 heads high as opposed to the correct 8.

It allows more detail and a more realistic look, but still keeps some of the charicature\'ness that all GW models have!

I read that in an interview with the guys who were working on the inquisitor range. Might not be 100% exact but the proportions are about right.
