how do you make and armature? I\'ve tried several times with wire, but I cant get the right shape, and they fall apart. Do you know a manufacturer of them? I\'ve heard that there are such things.
please help!

More armatures

Try Jeff Valent Studios:
http://www.jeffvalentstudios.com/modelingaccessories.htm

Though when I ordered, it was just about the time thier site was down for ten days. Took forever go get my stuff. But they have the two part package of Kneadatite for $1.99 less than Reaper\'s site, plus several armatures for as little as $.50 US each if you buy in bulk.

I\'ve just used 18 gauge copper wire. I HATE pre bought armatures, as they seem to break to bits when I try and pose them. I just use a ball of GS to keep the legs and arms together with the body.

Can you change the pose...

I know that witha bit of heat you can bend the armatures on the Reaper site without breaking them. But cna you change the pose of the Heroic armatures? To refresh your memory click here

I use a wire at least half the size of my thinest point that I need to support and the length is 5 times the final height. I then bend it in half and twist it for the head. Then use Da Vinci\'s (there\'s that guy again) The Proportions of The Human Figure - Vitruvian Man Shrink or enlarge it to the size of you need. Then bend and twist the correct proportions based on that. Then pose the figure. Anchor it to a base. Works every time.

i make my own from 1mm florist\'s wire. it\'s stiff but still easy enough to bend and doesn\'t (not yet in my experience) snap with too much bending. i base the proportions on other similar scale miniatures. i do the legs first and jam the wire into a cork. then build upwards. for the arms, i lay the wire on top of what chest i have done and mould the shoulders over it so it is fixed (if you see what i mean).

that being said, i have just bought a load of armatures from jeffvalent to see what they are like. what a hypocrite
