[HELP] Paint Schemes - Eltharion the Grim {GW 5th Edition}

Dear Cool-Mini-Users,

This is my first post here. I am attempting to re-paint my 5th Edition High Elf Eltharion the Grim model. He has been stripped of his old paint and re-primed. I already have Teclis and Tyrion working together representing the warm (reds) and cools (blues), and I was hoping to get something a bit different from Eltharion.

Seeing that he rides a Griffon, I was hoping to get a leathery, rustic sort of look to him. Perhaps some slight hints of olives and khakis as well.

Does anyone have any inspirational pictures or suggestions regarding this paint scheme?

Thank you,

Jacob

oooh, olive greens and white look very good together, especially if you also use a lot of gold for the metals.

Welcome...

....:D:bouncy: That aside,I\'m curious as to what colour you have in mind for the Griffon,the traditional brown,black,cream or something of your own concoction.I\'m going to do the Imperial one soon,so,I was just wondering :rolleyes: I agree with Astonia,the green with gold does look good,I\'d have cream instead of white as it\'s less harsh,But then I\'d also paint him Maroony and Gold coz I\'m obsessive lol If you went for a leathery look (Browns also being a pet obsession of mine) I think it would stand out from the other two models,but if you went with greens it would be a cool triumvirate of colours then! Cheers

Thank you both! I\'ve decided to go with a paint scheme very similar to your Dragon Princes, Astonia; however, I like Broke\'n\'English\'s\' suggestion of using cream instead of white.

Also, for the griffon - I\'m not sure if I\'m going to change it or keep it. It\'s actually painted fairly well, though it definitely could be better. I\'ll talk to the guys at the GW shop today and see what they think. I might just do some touch-up.

Thank you both for such a warm introduction to these forums. I have a lot of painting and projects planned, and I\'ll make sure to frequent them. I\'ll post pics once I finish him.

I\'m off to GW for some heavy-duty painting right now :cool:

I\'ll post pics tonight, if I have time.

Also, I\'m quite interested in doing some models of my own, especially for Tyrion\'s mount. Any suggestions about greenstuff, bluestuff, brownstuff, etc?

Thanks,

Jacob
