hi to all!i\'m a novice painter, one of my favorite is:
http://www.coolminiornot.com/79856
but it takes only 6.9...I have done 25 layers of red and blue, I have made the skin perhaps with less layers to make the image more striking...wings had made pen by pen...many left a vote but no comments, I want to improve, but without a feedback I can\'t understand what I must do, can someone see even the other images?the porpouse is the same...thanks to all who post!!! :)

Please understand that to acheive a 7 at the moment around here is doing very well indeed, and the mini you linked was 7.1.:D
Paint looks thick in places(metals mostly)
Base needs doing
Pics could be better.

For the best feedback post your images here in the work in progress thread or just like you have done.Everyone is honest without being nasty. Its a great help.

Hi I commented on this pic a while back and I stand by what I said having just reread my comment.
The pics are the main thing that is letting you down, the mini itself is very well done but it is a large piece and you do need to get several angles to see different areas, but a bit of time spent taking different angles with a decent background and then experimenting with cropping the images to get the best results is time well spent.
As I said the painting is of a good standard in fact I gave you an 8, the areas I would do more with would be to take the reds and blues further up with highlight and then try some shading with very dilute washes in the recesses of the cloth.

I thought the overall looks real good. I gave you an 8. The blending was a bit rough but not that bad. Nice piece.

It gets 7.5 in my books and if you\'re a novice painter, you\'re eons ahead of where I was when I started (and possibly at the moment too).

Some notes. The base needs doing and while you\'re near perfect technically in some areas there\'s nother \"special\" about it, like some interesting freehand on the robes or shields. You also need to work on your metals (I prefer them over NMM but they can be a real pain to pull off well).

Amazing reds though, the best Ive seen in a while,

I see no error. 7+ is a very solid score around here for a game piece - I would be very happy with that score. To get much above that usually requires a diaroma or great show-base at least - something that helps the mini stand out from the crowd.

As I\'ve said before, 8\'s are truely amazing and 9\'s have to breath.

Novice?
Its all been said- but I know the frustration of having a fig look grainy on film and not in reality even under magnification.
