Okay, I\'m sure this questions been asked a lot but from googling all day I havent found a decent answer. Its about D&D ish, but also about models and converting so I\'ve stuck it here since pretty much everyone should be able to help I think.

I played D&D for the first time with some mates at the weekend and it was pretty fun once I got the hang of it.

Now I don\'t want this to descend into rants about how 4th edition is rubbish like almost every forum thread on the subject I\'ve read. I\'ve only played this edition so to be honest, I don\'t really care about that.

What I do care about is that I roled a Dragonborn Rogue.... However, due to dragonborn being new to 4th ed theres no models for them, and I kinda wanted to paint it for myself anyway.

So my question is what mini can I use / buy / convert to represent this. I was wanting something that looked nice and wasnt wearing plate or chainmale as pretty much every decent Dragonborn stand in I\'ve seen has (preferably leather looking as I\'m a rogue).

Dragonborn Pic for those who don\'t know what they look like....

As a note, they have no tails....

Thanks for your help. xx

In my humble opinion you could use a lizard man, I\'m not really into these models but I\'m sure there\'d be a suitable one. Or you could look at the lizardmen/ draconians from older series like Grenedier or Ral Patha. I\'ll see if I can find some pictures.

you\'d need to whip the tail off.

That bottom ones not bad actually! Cant find a scale though, needs to be about 30mm

EDIT - Found the scale, 28mm, tis a good find! If anyone else has other suggestions feel free though =)

Actually, I just bought this mini recently from the CMON shop. And guess what? Both the tail AND the wings are separate pieces! He\'d just have to fill in the two \"pits\" where these attach, or sculpt something over them, and he\'s there. In addition, both hands are separate pieces, lopped off at the wrists. I\'d say you\'ve found the perfect solution for his problem!

If it helps, he\'s 1 inch (2.5cm) to the bottom of his neck.

I feel your pain. I also play and run D&D and have been very frustrated by the lack of minis to represent things like basic character races.

Now with the D&D minature game being cancelled and the miniatures being released in Character and Monster packs I don\'t know if this situation is going to get better or worse.

I miss the old days when every miniature company was making miniatures that were perfect for D&D. WotC needs to open up the OGL in regards to minis so that some other companies can make some Genasi, DragonBorn and Halflings without Hairy Feet.

I\'m also a D&D player and I tend to buy off ebay. I have quite a bit in the monster line Couatl, owlbears etc. Just keep your eyes open. As to the new 4th ed I\'m afraid I haven\'t up graded but you can normally find something!

I know there are old minis out there that can be found, especially in the old Ral Partha D&D 2nd edition range, the problem is the stuff that no one has made a mini for. Like the Genasi a PC race from the Forgotten Realms. Like the Varag, a new standard CR1 Monster from 3.5 edition\'s Monster Manual 4. Shadow creatures from the Shadowfell in 4e.... and many more.

Well since my problems solved, how about we extend this thread. If theres enough intrest / call for it, we could try and find minis for these characters so that people know where to find the monsters / characters they need?

Heresey! Gilvan! Heresey I say! Halflings are supposed to have hairy feet. I mean whats next, a half dog/ half cat, Giant Kender, beardless Dwarfs?!?:D:D

Hey I\'m all for the old school Hobbit based halflings. I\'m not the one that changed the race. Halflings in D&D have been Kenderized since D20 was released. Personally I like the Kender like Halflings but want them to be called Kender or something, and keep the old portly, hairfooted always hungry Halflings around as well.

My problem is finding minis to represent these new modern, less hairesuit, more physically fit halflings. You can at least find these in the D&D mini lines, but not really anywhere else. Of course old Dragonlance minis work well.

I still think the LOTR halfling minis are the best representation so far.

Green stuff over the feet... :D

Are dragonborn a core race then? /curious

OT: Also, I dunno if anyone else finds this, but I automatically preferentially read the name *under* the photos on the Dragonblood site, which leads to endless confusion as I read such things as \"Warmaiden of the Clouds\" under a big red lizardy dude! lol
