Does anyone here play pure grey knights?? I mean with no inquisitors or anything jus good ol\' fashioned but kickin\' Grey Knights?

I ask because i have a substantial GreyKnight Army myself and jus wanted to know if anyone else had such an army or any fun tactics for them.

I believe you can take a grey knight captain or commander to lead a pure GK force, I may be wrong on this as its been a while since I read the codex.

It\'s a bloddy hard army to play with, that\'s why I got myself some IG to soak up the damage, and let the big boys do the ass spankin!

I admit that I also started this way, then found that the army was too difficult (especially for hurting anything with AV 11 or better). I started pulling in Imperial Guard lascannon to help out with transport-breaking and tank-busting duty

i\'ve got a 3000 point pure grey knight army and trust me:
if you want to bring the emperors wrath over humankinds weak foes, they are the right choice
if you want to win a game, they are horrible to play with
indeed, they have NO, and by no ,i mean ABSOLUTELY NO, anti tank units.
the only weapons, with a strenght higher than 6, you can get are lascannons on the dreads and landraiders ... both are too expansive to make a cut in a game.
but if you play vs the hive you will crush these filthy \'nids in no time
stormbolters, S6 melee and your psinoic powers will make the earth saoked with green and blue blood

On a related note

Drednaughts...Only great hero\'s are interred in them, right?...Then why doesn\'t the GK have a psyker Dred...or even one that could actually stand up against a Greater Daemon? Like a Force Axe Close Combat Weapon or the such.

Right on dreds!

I agree, if the greyknights are supposed to be so well trained why don\'t they have at least even a venerable dred? Or maybe some anti-demon pyscic dreds as mentioined above.

Sometimes gamebalance is more important than the fluff :\\
i always asked myself why the dreads ( no matter if GK or space marine) have I 4 WS 4 and BS 4
only the best of the best, the high and mighty, the elite of the elite become a dreadnought, but except for their armor they are still tactical space marines.
i dont think a phantom lord is supposed to beat the crap out of 2 dreads at the same time ;)

Best of the best, most elite of the elite become dreadnoughts? Dreadnoughts are just a heavily armed life support system used to sustain people who have proven to be useful during their normal life... even if they were formerly great heroes, they had to been wounded severely to get tossed into a dreadnought, and then the technology of the dreadnought itself is probably a far cry from the precision control you have over your own body. BS4 is pretty good all things considered fluff wise ;)

I play Dark Angels with Grey Knights as allies. In many games, my teleport attack squad kills just as many vehicles as my lascannon tac squad. Stick meltabombs on every character, justicar, and brother captain you can, and things start to look pretty good. The 261 point grey knight grand master I bring with me in every game also lays down the pain, on vehicles or enemy troop squads.
