Greens?

Howdy, gang.

I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find a site devoted to green sculpture, or maybe a message board specifically for greens. I just started scratch building figures and am looking to find a resource for examples, techniques and advice.

Thanks in advance!

Before you disappear over the horizon...

Check out the CMON articles section. There are some sculpting articles in there.

Then check out this sculpt by cyril:

Make sure you follow the link he gives in the comments to see all the WIPS.

Who needs a sculpting site:flip:

I\'ve heard good things about a yahoo group named 1stlistsculpting or 1listsculpting, not a member because I really don\'t like those yahoo groups.

Hi,

you\'re welcome to join us at 1listsculpting http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1listSculpting . I\'m one of the moderators and it\'s pretty much the gathering point for sculptors and manufacturers. It\'s a good place to ask advice and critique since we have a lot of professionals on the list as well as good amateurs.

Another mailinglist that could be of interest is http://fr.groups.yahoo.com/group/Figurines_fr It\'s a French list with several sculptors of Rackham and Fenryll. Because of that you\'ll find a lot of Fimo stuff over there while at 1list it\'s mainly epoxy.

Other sites of interest (from the 1listsculpting reference list):

And a separate mail about the yahoo groups. As the others mentioned 1listsculpting is a mailinglist. So, while you can read messages on internet the message service is actually e-mail based. Messages are send to a central address which are then forwarded to the members either as separate mails or in daily digests.
There are other services online though like the files and photo archives, databases, links and chat.

Both forums and e-mail lists have their advantages. I\'d guess you already know those of forums since you\'re here, so here are some of a mailinglist:

-you do not have to be online to read and compose messages. You can do all this with your e-mail program. Good for those who are still using a phone connection.
-everything is automatically delivered at your doorstep. You do not need to manually go through different pages and threads to find all the latest messages. This saves time which the professionals on our list seem to like.
-Messages are easy to file if needed.

-Something which is both an advantage and disadvantage: you get all messages. So it\'s easier to quickly go through them but it also means you get the threads you\'re not interested in.

-One disadvantage is that it\'s more difficult to find all messages of one threads if you want to read it back. This needs some sorting.

Bye, Ming-Hua

Oooops....

Sorry Ming-Hua...I guess my comments may have sounded a little offensive.....

My apologies:D

Let\'s just say that I am too stupid to appreciate the complexities of the Yahoo forums:flip:

I am also a little biased as I really really hate Yahoo.....

No offence intended;)

Damn striaght. Its a shame more people don\'t use the MSN Groups whihc are much easier to browse, and you can actually set up pages.

Nope, for the most part, it seems that people prefer to use Yahoo groups and so very few modelling groups exist on MSN.

He has a nice set-up but at the moment the minis are not at the detail level we\'re used for fantasy minis. It\'s a nice starter\'s location though since it has tutorials. Still, to find resources, I\'d say, just go through the reference list I mailed before.
