Green stuff trouble

I\'ve got a little problem concerning the finer points of green stuff, and since I haven\'t found any tutorial that adresses it, I thought I\'d try my luck on the forums...

I\'m in the middle of a sculpting project, and though it is going quite well, there is one thing I haven\'t really figured out yet. How do you blend new GS into cured GS? ??? whenever I try this I end up with (at best) a thin ragged line where they meet. Any hints or tips gratefully accepted...

right. When you\'re doing that, you might find it usefull to use a rubber tipped clay shaper, or a wooden spatula(cutting one from the end of a used paintbrush is what I normally do), there are two reasons for the edge not sticking properly:
Either you\'re working too wet, and the Green stuff refused to stick properly, or:
you\'re mixing in too much blue. Try making a mix with more yellow than blue, it becomes much easier to adhere to the surface you want it on. Main thing is you can\'t expect it to just do what you want immedeately, you\'ll need to work(or fight...;)) with it a bit...

Another trick is to just let it cure, then scrape and file the edge into the shape you want.(yes, a lot of designers do this too, it\'s not cheating at all....)

might help a little....

There is an excellent little article about sculpting on the dragonrune site.

http://www.dragonrune.com/DRHome/

Click on the \"about us\" link, and scroll down to the DRAGONRUNE Sculptors. Then find the \"felix\'s sculptors corner\"

Doesn\'t exactly address your question, but it is a good read.;)

@tammy: I\'ll have to try he mixing tip, it sounds like it might do the trick... Almost ashamed I didn\'t think of it myself...:duh: But then again I guess that\'s why you\'re the professional...:)

@supervike: thanks a bunch, knowledge is power, after all...:D

Well,

you get paid for it, don\'t you? At least you have at some point been paid, I hope...??? That makes you a professional in my book...:)

Thanks, I\'ll have to post the little blighter (dragon) when he\'s finished, and subject it to the cruel and unusual voting procedures of hallowed CMON...:D

@Dragonsreach: Actually, I only called her a professional... Never explicitly said what profession...:D And how you interpret that is up to you...:p

Realizing my error, in the words of one Walter Sobchak (from The Big Lebowski); OVER THE LINE!!! It seems that, as happens once in a while, my attempt at jocularity has backfired quite spectacularly... I can only profess my deep-felt shame and hope that my (momentary though it may have been) idiocy hasn\'t offended you too deeply... I fully expect to be reported, and in the meantime I will shut up...

I\'m not even going to go there! (For a change!)

Tammy: Are you going to be publishing your Book of Grudges? I have this mental image of a greenstuff sculpted front cover and my name on most of the pages.
If so can I have an autographed copy? :D

That would be a cool concept for a Mini, a Dwarf with an opening Book of Grudges, full of paper.

Honestly, Seer, I don\'t think you have much to worry about. As \"foot in mouth\" episodes go, that was pretty mild.

The dwarf on the old (GW)Throne of Power was holding a book of grudges, but it was closed.
