Green Stuff / Milliput Mix

Hi there!
I\'ve been reading a lot about people using a 50/50 blend of green stuff and milliput, so that the resulting putty has the strength of milliput, and so can have tools used on it, but also the flexibility of green stuff so it won\'t snap like milliput can.

Which milliput though? Standard? Or superfine? I\'ve seen lots about using milliput superfine, but with the green stuff mix, I can only assume that you\'d need the strength of the standard milliput?

Thanks!

Superfine White & Grey-Green (or Silver-Grey) should all work fine, depending on what exactly you\'re going to be doing. The proportion of the two putties in the mix will obviously be important too.

Thanks guys!
I\'ll grab the standard and use more green stuff or less green stuff depending on how fine I want bits.

I\'ve used green stuff before and done some nice little bits, but I\'ve decided it\'s time to really start doing some sculpting!

Roll on beginners nerves!

I\'ve used both cheaper standard and the superfine a while back with great effect. The bit I was doing I used probably a 25/75 Milliput to GS mix as my sculpting was (well largely still is) pap and I wanted something that I could carve & sand.

Oh its also best to mix the Milliput and GS into their end products before mixing them together, dunno the technical reason but it is just easier to get it well mixed.

Never even heard of A&B.
I ordered some milliput standard from ebay, and some decent sculpting tools too.
Now I just need to work out how to share the file set I have with my bf (he doesn\'t seem to understand that I need all the different files!), and I need to get me some superglue, and I\'m set!

Will mix them up well and then mix together and see how it goes I guess.

Unfortunately (well... not really, but since I\'m new to sculpting properly... probably), I decided I didn\'t like the pose of the horse and had a new idea, which means hacking the horse up and sculpting a whole new front half...

I don\'t like to make things easy for myself!

Yeah, I\'m of the opinion that MagicSculp is better than the blend most of the time too.

If you get the tools and they\'re a little crude - the edges having a little \'flat\' to them is one of the common flaws with cheap ones - you can refine them with wet \'n\' dry and then repolish with many common polishes.

Tell the cheapskate to stop sponging off you and buy his own set :D
