Greater Daemon of Slaanesh and Kholek WIP

Alright here is something I have been working for a while--Keeper of Secrets and Kholek Suneater. The Keeper will be my general for my wip daemon army where as Kholek is more of a challenge set for me in order to work with GS.

The Keeper of Secrets is based on two models--FW Keeper of Secrets and FW Trygon. At first I was hesitant on buying the Trygon for fearing the tail will not match the Daemons body. My worry doubled when I went to games day and they said that they ran out of the Trygon and that I can have it shipped to me, thus not able to see it. I took the risk and behold fits perfectly. I am nearly done with the putty work of the mid torso...I think one more layer of putty should do the trick. Any suggestions on smoothing GS? My goal here is to sculpt the model to make it resemble the new Daemons of Slaanesh. So yes I will be putting clothes on her ;P. The arms are magnetized so I can transport her in the case when she is done.

Kholek Suneater is based on the shaggoth model and here I am sculpting the armor on him. I repositioned his arms to make it somewhat resemble the art cover of him in the WoC book. For shoulder pads...I am thinking of using the CSM Daemon prince shoulder pads. They seem to fit perfectly on him. The weapon is still being worked on, though I have started to work on it....it looks like a club with a skull sculpted on the front of the weapon. I have also extended the handle since he is carrying it with one hand...looked better imo. I can get pics of it soon. I am also going to sculpt more hair from where he has his arm risen.

So these are my two projects that I have been working so far for a few months now. Let me know what you guys think. Also provide with some suggestions on what I can do to make them look better, etc.

Thanks for looking and hopefully can update this soon.

Great work it looks good, keep it up!

On smothing Green Stuff dept: Use water and gently slide your wet finger or tool on the area that needs smothing several times until you are satisfied with the result. You might have to use more force if the stuff has begun to harden and you might need to re adjust your work in the process. I've heard that some make their fingers wet with their tongue, so in use you wet fingers or tools to smothen Green Stuff surfaces. It can be difficult in highly detailed areas of a mini...

Nice work so far.
About that smoothing - clay shapers works fine for me on smoothing GS which almost doesn't need lubrication (or - at least not that much).

Great work Scipunk. I actually prefer your vision of the keeper of Secrets, to the legged version. I think it just suits the model so more more.

Please keep this thread updated, even when you start painting, so I will get topic notifications.

clay shapers are an excellent way of smoothing down putty. alos, you may want to try adding some milliput/magic sculp or similar to your mix. that way you can get sharper edges on the armour. you can also cut and sand better when cured

KoS Updated

OK....here is what I was able to do today....and this was what I really wanted to do to add to the side....I have only worked on the left side, but before I continue with the right...let me know what you guys think. This is my first attempt on scales...so be as harsh as you guys can be ;P

Again thanks for the suggestions

They are good scales.
But I think it would look nicer if you made the scales significantly smaller the lower down you get on the 'tail' and if you extend the carapace plates so they are placed over the scales.

In case you guys are wondering about the scale of the model...here's a pic taken next to my skink chief

Alright....This week I worked on the clothes that I wanted to dress up the KoS with. This is the first stage of what I would like to have done to her. I might add a little bit of accessories to the side and do something about the back.

Let me know what you guys think so far.

Thanks

I think it looks great! But the only thing i am seeing a bit weird is the carapace on the lower body, I think it should go just a bit higher covering her butt. Either way looks great!

Thanks guys for the comments...really appreciate them. As for the carapace I might change it a bit to resemble armour....but I am still thinking on a lot of things for this model, so we will see.

I basically sculpt as I go (I never started out sketching the model in what I wanted to turn in it into). So if you guys have any suggestions let me know.

Thanks again.

Okay....been a while since I posted or worked on this little one, but finally decided on what I wanted to do to the back plating of the tail and make it look less 'nid and more like armour. There will be more work done to it, probably some side trims on the armour.

Let me know what you guys think.

For now Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year
