Good starting score

I was just wondering what people considered to be a good starting score for submissions of models.

I ask this as I\'m sorting out some submissions and want to get the most accurate score as possible.

Cheers.

u shouldnt care what the score is  and there isnt a good or bad starting point it all depends on how good the pics are, how good the blending is etc

What you think is an \'accurate\' score, and what the people voting on your submissions will think is \'accurate\' are likely going to be very different things.

Especially if you really are just starting to post, here. When I first posted here, which wasn\'t very long ago, really, I thought my first submission was the greatest thing I\'d ever painted, and was sure to get an 8 or 9 out of 10, easy.

It got less than 5, which is \'base tabletop\'.

Then I tried painting more slowly, more carefully, and posted Work In Progress threads in the forums, got genuine helpful feedback, and my subsequent minis scored far, far better.

Bear in mind, also, that it isn\'t only painting, but your method of displaying the mini. Photography has to be clear and crisp, and multiple angles of the mini is always helpful. Preferably combined into a single image, because people hate finding many many pictures of the same mini from every angle possible.

i\'ll be blunt, scores aren\'t worth shit.

photography skills and photoshop knowledge are more important than the actual painting.
as far as painting, as long as it\'s neat and smooth it doesn\'t matter as it\'s the painters popularity that\'s more important.

lastly, the mini itself is the biggest contributer to the score.
a popular mini company (mini doesn\'t even have to be that good) will always get higher scores due to the fanboys.
newly released minis get scored higher as it\'s something new for people to look at.

get feedback from the forums mate, it will benfit you more than trying to get high scores.

all this sounds harsh and negative i know, but it\'s the truth without the cotton wool wrapping.
