And with their pompous dismissal of their own rules it is no wonder such a huge number of people feel alienated from the political process.

We\'ve been trying for years to reform the way the legislature here works - unfortunately it takes an amendment to the state constitution - and we have to amend the constitution to remove old out of date amendments to have enough room to make the first amendment - So the vast majority of folks in Texas just kinda scratch their heads and move on - and honestly that would probably never made the news here in Austin if it hadn\'t been a slow week for murders, auto accidents, and other more \"important\" news.
