Going to need an army list for for my new army, its going to be ork and goblins.......

Well thats what I need help with, should I do a ork and goblin list or just go for a full goblin army ?

Also anyone know what the difference will be between the old codex and the new one thats due out?

Vampires are fairly high on the scale of army books to be redone. i think they are third or fourth.

I know the next two are Orcs and Goblins and then Empire. And then I know Vampire counts and Dark Elves are pretty close behind

Why...other than the obvious answer, do they keep recycling everything. It just has gotten very redundant...especially I consider EVERY WFB to be relatively new.

Supervike, you want the technical answer or the marketing answer. (I think the truth is somewhere between)

Technical - with a new edition of fantasy coming out, some of the rules int he old army books are open for misinterpretation, much the same as happened in 40k. Add to this \"Codex Creep\" in which the newer codexes have better and better units, magic items, etc, and the older codexes inevitably require updating.

Marketing - It is a lot easier to sell new models to an already established fanset. couple this with an update making the army more viable to power gamers and you can sell lots of shiny goodness.

Yeah...I understand the marketing of it, I suppose...

I think I would rather see them focus on additional units and special characters, instead of basically scrapping the existing stuff.

If they did as they said all the books at once and balanced them there and then then they wouldnt have to redo the books every 5 years or so. But then they wouldnt sell as many minis or books I spose. Oh well its the only game in town for me so I continue to follow the circus.

it would also be one hell of a nightmare schedule to get em all done .. they do play test them against each different army and make notes as they go for future revisions.
I personally like revisions as long as they don\'t make any of my minis or tactics redundant ..it\'s like getting a new army withot buying new models when the rules and how they play changes a little..

it\'s the changes that keep it interesting.. Gorkamorka anyone??? a lot of games like that fall into non existence due to a lack of support but the constant tinkerings are the support...

Good point, I\'ve got a mixed feeling about it. I like how they keep everyone interesed and its a lot easier to find an opponent nowdays but the constant flow of money it takes to feed the machine sucks.

I got started in 4th edition, but during 5th I had moved away for college and didn\'t have any opponents so I couldn\'t play. Not untill 6th did I get back into it seriously when they finally opened a gw store near me.

In the end I hate their marketing but I love their game....
