Goblin War Giant

I have just received in the post the Goblin War Giant made by Mirliton Fantasy. I was thinking of putting some more Goblins (probably GW ones as I have these lying around) on and around the base. This may seem a daft and bizarre question, but would it be out of place if those extra goblins were actually Night Goblins, as they are supposed to live in Caves and Giants don\'t? (Or wouldn\'t if they existed)

I just want it to be correctly themed, so I would appreciate some other opinions guys.

Well mac, there are such things as cave giants =D So having a bucketfull of nightgoblins hangin round a Goblin War giant would be acceptible if they are all painted within the same scheme =D

that\'s cool man. i haven\'t seen this model in years.

gw\'s night goblins are a lot larger than other goblins. i would try and use other models.
try hasslefree and reaper minis.

they will be more in scale with this model.

At one time, that mini (made by Grenadier many moons ago) was my \'holy grail\' of miniatures.

I\'d see it come up on E-bay every now and again, only to be outbid, or outpriced at every turn.

I guess I\'ve kind of grown out of wanting it anymore, but it is still a fantastic mini.

Why the heck would you want MORE goblins on him? Isn\'t 10 enough? lol

I too think the larger GW goblins may \'shrink\' the giants proportions, but having never seen him in real life, don\'t know that for sure. Maybe adding some GNOBLARS from the Ogre Kingdoms would be a better fit.

Post pics when you get it going!

Thanks for the opinions guys. I will of course try and post some pics, I\'ll need to figure out how to do it though. Would the WIP thread be the right place?

I\'m only toying with the idea of more or different goblins. But I think this will be a long project as the wife is expecting a baby in the very near future.

@macbrown - good call. you have to apppreciate the size of that beast. post the pics in the w.i.p. thread and good luck with the baby

11 probably is enough, but you have to spend a boring day at work daydreaming about something. What better way than planning on how to make your minis bigger and better!

I hear that!! If I could actually do my minis as big as I daydream them, I\'d need a much bigger house!lol

Good link, eb, never seen that page before. Lots of nice stuff there.

That giant is nice and certainly is lots of mini for the price, but...he is an expensive bugger.

No problem. A friend forwarded it to me after wanting for years. He and I, much like Supervike, loved that model. I want it, but I am woried that I will buy it, and then put it in storage. thats a lot of cash to get wishy washy about.

While I\'m cleaning the giant figure up ( can\'t really call it a mini), in the kit I\'ve got, there are actually 14 goblins.
In height he is nearly 13cm to his head (not including the platforms)

I understand your qualms, eb. That is alot of cash to put into storage and it\'s take alot of time (and not a little bit of courage!) to tackle that monster. Still, it\'s not as expensive as the FW chaos titan I\'ve had my eye on....lol

You missed one, I counted 11 :D

There are FOURTEEN in the one i got for xmas...

And on a personal level Grenadier (and now mirliton) made far better miniatures (to my eye) than GW at the time so to put GW goblins on the base would be heresy, no thats GW not heresy - oh dang this is too much hassle - no not hasslefree, oh i give up...

Link to Mirliton goblin range
