Getting started...

Hi to all of you!
I decided to start my Confrontation career and need some help.
First, I don\'t understand- race rules books doesn\'t exist? There are cards instead ?
Second, I wanna find some Confrontation players around me. I live in Maryland, not so far from Delavare.
If there are someone who willing to communicate - give me a sign!

Is there are Griffon limited ed. Assasin hero left somwhere ? I\'m afraid that I know the answer, but...

Thanks for attention.

Okay, in order of questions, here\'s my answers:

The rules are in that little book you get with each mini. The rules for Confrontation are here in English. And the rules for Incantation are here. It\'s a little wierd, but all the rules ar for Confronation.. the Confrontation rules just touch on regular fight, Icantation are the magic rules, Divination are the priest rules, an Incarnation are the rules for fighting like an RPG where you can make and \"level up\" a Character. There are no rules for each race, all the rules are on the card, or with them on a background card. It\'s not like Warhammer where you\'re thumbing through pages to see what skills a mini has, they have them on the card, but you must read the rules to know what they do.

Second, as I live in Texas I really can\'t help you myself, but Maryland has a bigger mini community and I know several CMON members would live there.

You can get Shayns the Shadow at Rackham\'s English Online store. Though they\'re somewhat slow this month.. been waiting for them to confirm my order for a few days now!

Well, hope this helps and welcome to Aarklash! :D

I live in MD, but close to DC. One store has just started carrying Confrontation so I think it will be a while before it catches on. Still, there are plenty of Maryland game clubs. If you have a local store see if they host any game nights. You need to get out there and recruit if you want to start people on a new system.

Like Chrispy said, there are no books, you buy a blister and you get the stat card for the figure and a rulebook. It\'s quite easy to start :)

Got some feedback- smells good!

I live in Salisbury, MD(in the middle of the penissula) and I\'m pretty sure that there are noone playing Confontation here(even WH players unique here).
So, if I\'m starting an army, I will collect it blindly- without knowing what those minis are doing?
Chrispy & vincegamer:
Maybe we can communicate via mail ?
I think there will many Q\'s soon.

Sure thing, send me a messgae through CMON and I\'ll give you my Email! Feel free to ask me any question (*other than when the elves will be out Rackham doesn\'t seem to know that either...) :p

First Q.

Could you give me short description of each \"race\" in Co-on? Not the background(I already have it), but a \"field specialization\".

Another one-
How about converting or sculpting? Does Co-on encourage that ? (it\'s hard for me to cut those masterpieces, but...)
GW, for example, has some restrictions. :flame:

In Rackham\'s letters to the Confederation du Dragon Rouge, converting is encouraged! The only thing is what the card says is what it actaully does. So if you swap the Watcher\'s weapon, for example, for a sword the rules are the same. However, in these letters Rackham gives some unofficial rules and they give the bits.
Take this Gladiator Wolfen, for Example.. It uses peices from Kassar and Onyx for a new mini entirely!

As for the armies in the game:

Lions of Alahan: Basic armored humans, good for all around fighting. Bravery allows them to stave off Fear effects.

Wolfen (and Devourers) Heavy hitters that move good, but price wise they\'re expensive, so you\'ll only see about 4-5 of them in medium games.

Mid-Nor Dwarves: Horde-swarmers that brush off effects of wounds. Cheap and stronger than humans, but lack defense.

Goblins: Horde-swarmers, have to use sneaky tricks to use. They have access to Trolls, that hit hard and can regenerate, but those are expensive.

Alchemists: Humans on steriods, their mutant skill can make any of them stronger at a moment\'s notice.

Griffons: Like Alahan, only they can suffer from fear, but not run away.

Keltois: Not as well armored as other humans but can act like Berzerkers.

Orcs: Brutes. Big, strong and tough but not as expensive as Wolfen.

Dwarves of Tir-Na-Bor: Tough buggers that shell out mortars and such.

Undead of Acheron: Can cause Fear in everyone, but have no Discipline. Necromany can bring them back!

Daikeenes: Supposedly a shooty elf army.

Cynwalls: Supposedly an armored, militaristic elf army.

Akshan: Evil elves that look fast and posionous.

Hope this helps!

Hi XeeN, you can ask me too. Just to make things more complicated, I\'m in Spain... But Tuubje is still further away. I\'ve been away this weekend, or I\'d have offered my help earlier, too.

[Begs pardon for being VERY off-topic] Yes, Calpe is relatively close to Valencia: about 1h30m away (using the motorway), possibly a bit less. You\'ll enjoy it, I\'m sure! [Ends being off-topic].

CoM, you\'d better check online stores until someone from the US can help you. I\'d certainly check The Warstore. I\'ve bought from Neal once (not Rackham, my local store carries it) and his service is excellent. And he usually has very good discounts for you US residents.

As far as I know, the nearest to Manassas is Dream Wizards in Rockville, MD, which is near where I live.
I did a quick web search and didn\'t find anything nearer to you. Rockville is probably around an hour\'s drive.
I\'ll stop in and peak at their stock on my way home tonight.

Captain, if you\'ve never bought from Neal at the Warstore, I can certainly recommend him. I\'ve dealt with Neal for a couple of years now and his service and prices are excellent. His store is in New York, so it\'s a bit far :)-- but he ships out quickly and I get my orders with 3 business days. He has Confrontation minis with great pics and info on them.:D

Warstore...

Yes, nice shop. But hundreds of \"OUT OF STOCK\" messages are annoying... :flame:

Waiting for other US Confrontationists messages!

Okay, I peeked at their stock yesterday (in Rockville, MD) and they don\'t have a lot but then they\'ve only been carrying Confrontation for a couple of weeks now. The will do special orders apparently.
If you want Fianas they\'ve got tons. Nice selection of Wolfen too. Odds and ends of the rest of them though. Not sure if there were any Alchemists - didn\'t see any but someone was restocking the rack while I was looking.
Reminding myself of the HE army that is in progress on my worktable I managed not to buy any.

vince!

I\'m intersted in:
(blisters- all english, exept Shanys)
Shanys the Shadow (!!!);
Fusiliers;
Thallions(sword users);
Duellists.
Do they have those? I will order them if your shop will not give a price more than 55 euro(for all of them). How long it will take? And final Q : could you ask them, who is their supplier of Conrontation (my local shop owner is looking for one...)?
Thanks in advance! :bouncy:
