Gas attacks questions

I have a couple of questions on Gas attacks:

- does a Gas attack always roll two dice (as on Baron Gaston's card) whenever it attacks, or two dice for the initial attack and some other number of dice (one? "suffers an attack" p32) for subsequent attacks?

- is the sequence for Gas attacks:
1 - In the 1st Combat Phase, place Gas marker, make attacks;
2 - In the 1st Movement Phase, move Gas and make any further attacks;
3 - In the 2nd Combat Phase, flip the Gas token and make any attacks;
4 - In the 2nd Movement Phase, move Gas and make any further attacks;
5 - In the 3rd Combat Phase, remove the Gas marker and make no attacks

I hope any future Gas attackers come with their own Gas markers!

Yes, that's pretty much it. The gas cloud attack has the same attack value as the original gas attack.

Just a correction on your line "3". You don't attack when you flip the gas token. You attack when someone starts their turn and there's a gas cloud in the same grid as their unit.

Slight correction to Step 5 I think. Gas can cause damage outside of the combat phase. If a unit moves through it, an attack takes place. Otherwise, there would be no point to leaving it on the battlefield till the start of the attackers third combat phase. It limits the movement choices both sides can make. Heck, a Tunnel Rat or Death from Above troop could deviate into gas and be attacked on the deployment step.

Actually, I think you attack any time a unit starts/finishes its turn in a gas affected grid or moves through a gas affected grid.
-Edit oops, beaten.

The latest PDF version of the rules has different text that may be clearer:

GAS - Besides attacking the targeted grid normally, when this attack is used it creates a gas cloud, placing a gas token on the targeted grid.
Gas clouds are carried around by the wind, moving one grid each round at the beginning of the “gasser’s” movement phase, with the direction determined by a deviation flip.
They persist on the board for two rounds and are removed at the start of the “gasser’s” combat phase.
All units, whether friend or foe, that begin their turn on a gas cloud, move through a grid that contains a gas cloud, or have a gas cloud move into their grid, suffer a single gas attack using the attack stats of the creator of the cloud.
