Hi,

Are minis or board games okay to give as a gift to a 3-year-old brilliant boy? Or should I ask if there's a recommended age required to play these games?

My eldest boy is a couple of months off being 3, although he will sit down and paint with me every now and then he’s not really that interested in them (3 yr olds have pretty short attention span)... I would say they’re definitely not recommended for kids this age, with all the small parts etc... but I suppose it depends on the child, all 3 yr olds are different. Personally I wouldn’t let my kids play with minis unsupervised, but my kids are little terrors and we would end up with them everywhere

There are some board games that are geared toward younger kids. My kid will be five in a month and he has really enjoyed Sequence for kids. We also have a few games from a company called Haba that he has enjoyed for a couple of years.

As Chaotic said it depends on the kid, but mine has had a pile of dice and a dice tower that he has loved playing with since about 2.5. Obviously needed to wait until he got out of the habit of putting every thing in his mouth.

And remember at that age a lot of direction aren't required, so don't discout the fun of a barrel of dollar store animals or army men.

Almost Perftec! Aw, crap.
build my daughter a razorback and some snap fit blood angels when she was little she used to take them everywhere with her in her little lunch box carrying case. They are sturdy and if you keep all the small parts off the vehicles (serchlights smoke launcher etc) they are just solid chunks of plastic. You have to judge on a kid by kid basis tho. this one looks simple and fun:

He is a 3-year-old brilliant boy with autism. Yes, he has a short attention span, and he gets bored with most games for 3-year-olds. His therapist encourages him to try new board games that can perk his interest and make him feel happy. As per this article,https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/therapy/therapeutic-techniques-and-how-they-can-help-you/, learning new things that are positive can definitely help him.

Can you tell me more about Super Dungeon?

Thanks for sharing it with us. My sister-in-law is also interested in the article you mentioned. Anyway, about Super Dandelion, it's a 2D platform table strategy for 2 or more game players and its a sort of role-playing of heroes out of treasure. I think it is the first anime battle game.

Got it! Thank you too, @slowrise.
