I think the same thing regularly especially because confrontation is by far my favorite miniatures game of all time. very strategic, they did a great job with the last edition rule book with in depth explanations and while there were some translation issues for the most part it is on point and there are still FAQ's and such that clarify anything that needed errata. It is not a huge time sink like most of the other games because it is skirmish style which fits me perfectly and more importantly my work schedule. Add to that the dogs of war extension and you have something truly amazing.
That all said i agree with Mahrdol, my delusions of grandeur would like to believe it will see a revival and become atleast semi main stream again, but his points are all extremely valid unfortunatly. The price points for gorgeous models makes sense but not for a revival of people trying to get back into the game itself. It is too costly for what you get to start a warband and the models being released are not exactly being released in usable warband point scales. (a perfect example is the latest release with the fiannas and Drac mac Syro. Lets say you were putting together a 400ap tourny army. Drac is way too expensive to use in a standard confrontation game and while Fiannas are great you would have no need to take 7 unless you were gearing up for the OOP Ragnarok game.
If they want to work towards a future for continued miniatures sales and other options for the IP, the releases need to be more in line with usable warbands. models which AP tends to run in the 150-250ap is range which allows a solid starting base which can be added to with future releases or purchase of OOP models from various other sources. At the end of the day the IP for the world of Aarklash is AMAZING there is no denying that with the ability to take it and run it into many other systems; CCG's, board games (sort of like Hybrid did years ago), books, etc. But that desire and end game still takes capital and vision to make happen and at the moment it does not look like its going that way.
I will support confrontation in any way i can until the end of time, and just hope that Legacy and Cmon can turn this into something truly great using the endless potential that is waiting to be tapped.
**As a note, i still play confrontation as often as i can and a local game shop just opened and i have enough models for 10 ppl or so to play so im trying to teach them and get them into it, maybe if we all try who knows where things go, its still in LM/CMON hands to run with it.
