Frost Feet

Hello everyone. I had just a quick painting question I wanted to ask. Simple I plan on painting the Reaper Ice Queen in this type of diorama:

\"She is near a frozen lake where the lake is deep in a forest and its a snow white winter atmosphere. And on the Ice are 3 guys running at her to kill her but you see near the bank where the Ice Queen is the ice starts to crack and the ice strats to crack around the soldiers.\"

However though the painting question is do you guys know any ideas how to paint a person\'s foot to show the cold is effecting them a little bit? I plan to paint the queen in normal Caucasian skintone, but to make it at least realistic I wanted to show the skin is a bit freezing even though she is an Ice Queen :). Thats all and sorry to bother you about it.

Ive never painted anything in such a way so far, but I would say it would something like painting facial stubble, picking the right colours, and just doing a mix with the skin tone, and straight on where you want.

I remember seeing a very nice example of cold feet on a priest mini (think it was GW, but not 100% sure...) He was waving a big hammer and standing bare-foot in some snow. It used red tones for that frost-bitten look. I can\'t find t right now, but I\'m sure somebody else here must remember it too?

Edit: Got\'im! Linky

Personally I\'d just pink up her feet a bit, not go the whole hog and try to make this look truly realistic. I\'m all for realism where it should apply but in fantasy we don\'t really want an Ice Queen who has to worry about chilblains or frostbite do we? :)

I\'d recommend you use a crimson or magenta-ish red, rather than something more mid-red or scarlet, but try a test with a few reds, see what looks right to you.

Thanks for your guys inputs or examples :)

@Einion - Very true about the whole Ice Queen not suffering cold after thinking what you said it would be kinda odd. So I probably go with your idea of pinking up the feet :)

Probably in the next day or so I\'ll start on the construction of the terrain and display base so be on the watch :)
