well right off the bat he looks awesome, the rotting sores (and his teeth) look great and so does the sword. The only thing I feel is missing is the green is too monochromatic. I can see variations but they arent substantial enough, emphasize his splotchy decaying skin with more yellows and browns and hell look top notch. Also maybe some bruising... but i cant imagine how hard that would be but look like you could do it.

Well i might be able to very very softly add in some bruising with light blues and purples around th edges of the wounds. I will try and some more color to the skin becuase i agree it is monocromatic even though it actually is 3 shades with inks and a little desert yellow. Back to the paints. :)

I must say i stared at that for about 5 minutes and it made me feel queezy, you did a wonderful job on the detail its as if he is real and i just want to spew my lunch forth.

Kudos

Ok, so I went back and added a little more yellow to the skin and also added some hinting of bruising around some of the larger wounds. After that I decided to reward myself and get crazy with some blood and guts. :) Keep the comments coming guys. I would love to score above an 8.5 for once on this site.

Try googling \"fat naked\" and look at the pictures - I dare you :p I´m obviously NOT gonna post pictures here *shudders*

My point is that when you get very fat - and moist as this guy surely is - the skin suffers badly in all wrinkles and creases - it starts to get irritated, sore, inflamed and such. I can only imagine that a guy who is called \"the Great Unclean One\" would suffer from a lot of this.

So you need to treat all these areas of the skin with some kind of inflamed putrid effect/color to make it really disgusting.

Edit: remembered that adding some necrotic skinpatches might also be an idea - the skin on VERY fat people has a risk of just dying because the vascular system can´t keep so big a mass oxygenated (you can do a goggle search on that one too - if you´ve got the stomach for it :p).

Lastly maybe darkening the inside of the sores so that they go almost black in the recesses (you can use tamya clear red and black ink for this: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?autocom=ineo&showarticle=298)

I see this bloater is up in the gallery so I voted, congrats on a great looking paintjob. It goes to show the value of the forums for a quick check in before commiting to the gallery, the purpley bruised areas really add to the look. I particularly like the mouth & the generic cheap meat of indeterminite origin sausage colour for the intestines. Hope you end up with a higher score than you were expecting, B.

Thanks for the vote. I just posted him up in the gallery to see where the score was going to be at. Still a lot of work to do on the base and now with the suggestion of tping fat naked people into google i have come up with some more things i need to do that can be tricky. Anyway, Thanks a lot guys for all the input. I hope to have some new photos posted tonight when i get out of class. :)

personally, i would lighten the horns and the wrapping on the sword, maybe add some striations to the gut to add texture. generally a fab job though, very grim

Freak might be thinking about stretchmarks in the skin which occur when skin is stretched too far to fast - you see it fairly often on pregnant women, and also on people who grew VERY fast in their puberty.

no:

colon-intestines.png

i know they are on the large intestines and this si probably small bowel escaping but i figured it would add a nice texture

Ok i got it add some definition/depth to the intestines. The sttch marks would be a nice touch but i am not sure how i would add them at this point in the game. Thanks for the help guys.

Ok, so I have to admit i am a little nervous about doing any more work on the intestines without jacking them up so i am doing a practice run on some ones that i quickly made out of gren stuff before committing to them on the model. What do you guys think about possibly running vallajio water effects through an airbrush on to the skin of this guy to give it a more sweated look?

After looking into some things, I brightened the horns with bleached bone, and brightened the cloth around the sword( I think it needs some ink though to bring t down just a little) I also darkened the blood in the wounds.

the darkening of the wounds was a great idea, he keeps getting darker and gorier with every new post. One other thing you may think about doing is highlighting the boils and poxs marks all over his back. Itd help break his back up since its not as interesting as the front (since the front has so much going on).

I agree with Monkeysplitters that you should try and pick out the boils on the back to make it stand out a bit more.

A couple of more things I´ve thought of is -

If you look at his lower back you can see a lof of indentations in the skin - pockmarks or circles where the skin is recessed, but the skin isn´t pierced. For skin to do something like that is has to be the result of trauma OR some kind of disgusting disease or mutation (yay :p). Both of these reasons would have lead to some irritation/reaction on the skin, which again would lead to a colorchange. You could use the purple you´ve used on other parts of the skin or maybe a more brown or red.

Also seeing that you have used \"wet\" blood on the sores you should really gloss up all the parts of him that isn´t covered in skin - I´m thinking about the sores on his hands and all the little yellow dots on his neck and other places. You might have planned to do this once you´re done, but I thought I´d mention it anyway.
