Flint Weapons - Help

Hey everyone, this is my first topic so bear with me. I am trying to find a way to do weapons that look like flint. I\'ve tried the idea of doing ice weapons but with a brown inner but it doesn\'t seem to look right.

So I was wondering if anyone could help me in this dilemma. I have searched around a bit but not found much, mostly because I suck at searching around.

Cheers

Hi and welcome. I think I\'m reading right and it\'s the painting you\'re having trouble with, but for either sculpting or painting as a starting point I\'d recommend finding a lot of reference pics of flint arrowheads and other tools (loads of them online) and working from them.

Colour varied a lot so you don\'t have to stick with just chocolate-brown and a sort of sienna colour, it\'s common to see dark grey, middle grey and cream/oatmeal/beige.

In miniature I think you might want to move toward lighter colours for the edges, to make them look thinner, but other than that just careful painting of light and shade in the concavities and ridges should make \'em look right. Or you could just try drybrushing!

Maybe these will help.
