Flag poles

Has anyone come up with a solution for making a set of flag poles for the SO captures? It would make it more obvious what's gaining VP's in a large map, add some drama to the game and appeals to me at a strangely primal level. It seems like having a base similar to air units would let you put it on grid with a full complement of infantry. Or maybe a base that completely covers the grid with a removable pole... although that sort of messes up the bunkers coming from the kickstarter, I guess.

I can't find anything commercially available that looks right as far as scale and/or doesn't cost over $10 a pole.

Cocktail sausage stick or wood/plastic dowel. Drill hole in a plastic mini's base or coin and stick n staff. Get image from web of faction sign. Print off. stick to pole.

Though, before that, you might want to take a closer look at the plastic Strategic Objectives that will come in the 2nd Wave of the Kickstarter.

i just use the paper markers that came with the core box. waiting on the plastic SO's & flags that will come with wave 2 (maybe?, hoping so).

In the classic green and grey army guys, they come with sandbag bunkers and what not, but they also come with brown flags that fit extremely well in size and theme. Go to a dollar store and pick up a pack

Or yeah, just wait for the WAVE 2 objectives.

I thought the nifty plastic objectives are just... just, ha! the bases, no flags to differentiate which side, if any, hold them. I think it's more interesting to have actual flags. I'll accept I'm quibbling over a minor issue, the game is a bundle of fun to play!

Turns out my boys had some insight into this, anyway. We're currently using LEGO flags and bases, which works adequately. There's something satisfying about actually planting a flag or tossing the other side's across the room when you capture it. That's what, uh, my kids do, I mean. Not me. Nope.

I was advocating for CMON and Ted to do this with the plastic objectives upgrade. Not sure how far that got.....

Those would work, but I was hoping to find something with a cross base, so you could fit it between four infantry. You wouldn't have to worry about 1x2 space units, since support, cavalry and tanks can't enter SO. That assumes there's no 1x2 infantry, but there isn't *currently* at least.

I actually have some, and they are thin, but stable enough to fit between 4 infantry fine, and still stable (they don't fall over instantly). I can understand the want for cross base though

Once we get the plastic objectives, just drill a hole there. Having an official Rivet Wars flag set would be awesome, though. Especially with the decals we're getting. What say you, Ted?

Could use them but they are just plain designs for tanks and ot ornate like the flags.
