Played against my son today. I have played a game or two of Dust Tactics with him, so figured he could pick this up easily enough. It took him a bit to get the grid system down and the deployment phase, but it worked out after a bit.
I like the spawning RTS system, it's a nice change from always having to build a list. Models are fantastic, can't believe how good those came out. Components are great, tiles are warping slightly, but I just bend me a bit to flatten back out.
Combat before movement is a bit of a pain. The allies shorter range almost feel like they need to move before they attack. The gameplay also feels like it can landslide a bit if one opponent has a bigger wave rolling.
So, just first impression, but components are top notch, not much better. But so far, gameplay seems to be lacking just slightly.
