Figure Feedback

I just wanted to thank Ted and CMoN team for RW. You guys have done a fabulous job.

Ted! The figures are so awesome!

I really love:
  • the casts - no 3d printing striations. Nice and crisp.
  • the scale - they are much smaller than I imagined... but so cool! This small size allows for larger big units... which is great!
  • the additional details - how all of the gears look like they'd work, and how the sturmwheel has gauges for the pilot. You can see that a lot of love went into the sculpts.
  • the unity of design - everything fits so well together visually.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to make something so cool! (I'm glad that the wait is finally over... but excited about the extras too!)

Now, to paint 'em!

Yes.. scale.. holy cow these guys are so tiny and adorable. For some reason I was thinking one guy was about twice the size of what I received. I finally understand how we were able to receive so much plastic for so little money.

I even went back to watch the paint videos that I watched completely back when they came out and the scale just didn't compute when I watched them, but now I see it. Haha, I'm pretty stoked, they are mini miniatures :p

I wish I could pain them now, but I think I'd better do them all at once, or at least all of the same type at the same time.

I'm in the same boat. I don't want to start painting them, until I'm ready to paint one whole army at once.

I'm wondering about the sockets and the damage counter slots; will paint in there make them impossible to place and remove?

Placing a counter in the slot would soon remove the paint if it were tight, problem is you then have a marked base. I'm still thinking of using masking tape to cover the edges then sand and paint the top before spray priming the whole model.

I don't want to start painting until the duplicates come in Wave 2. Then, once I finish a base set's worth painted, I'll swap them out.
