Feedback & Pic Query

Hi,

I\'ve just posted a new mini - Gandalf the Grey. I haven\'t had many votes for it, and would like to the number of votes to 50. And I would love to have some feedback and criticism. I would like to get the number of votes on my Aragorn mini to 50 too.

A link to my gallery is in my sig.

But, when I upload my pics to the site, most seem to lose quality. The sword on my Gandalf mini seems to be obscured on this site. It should look like this one:

Does anyone know why the quality goes down as I upload my pics to this site?

Thanks,

Griffo

Your pic is too wide - 600 px is the maximum width to preserve page layout. Yours is 625 px wide. CMON automatically resizes your pic but doesn\'t do a very good job of it, so it gets a little pixelly.

Been and voted and left a comment on the one :D You have some nice work comining on there, its not often that LOTR mini\'s shows up on here this well painted. Looking at the pic in photobucket (I copied it to find out the size etc) you need to keep your photo\'s to 600 pixels wide or less here on CMON otherwise it gets compressed and all sorts of strange things can happen in this case you have probably been lucky and they do not look that bad despite the compression (it doesn\'t matter about the hieght just the width) also keep your photo\'s under 100Kb or they will get compressed as well.

Thanks, War Griffon. But, I just deleted that pic. No! I didn\'t even get to read your comment. But I\'ve re-cropped the pic and added it to my gallery. It\'s on \'waiting\' at the moment. :(

But here\'s the ref. number: 94867

Voted on both Griffo. Very nice work you got there. I like you version of Gandalf and Aragorn is nice and simple.

I agree that it is nice to see some well painted LoTR mini\'s. For some reason most of the mini\'s don\'t lend themselves well to paint.

One thinng that I would do to improve your pictures is use a blue to white gradient. I am not sure why but it really does help pick out the colors on the mini\'s better.

Thanks, Drake Farstrider and NSA! :)

Yeah, Drake. I agree that the blue blend in the background looks better. But it took so long to do on my Citadel Guard, (I added that background in on photoshop). Do you print out a piece of paper with a blue gradient on, and then use it as a background. Or add it in on the computer once the pic has been taken?

Thanks for the comments. :)

Thanks, Jabber and Ritual. :)

Ritual, the advice you gave me was really helpful. The idea of adding those extra highlights on areas facing upwards is great. It\'s something I\'d never have thought of myself. I\'ll try it out on My Frodo mini, that I\'ll post once I\'ve finished. Thanks for the votes, everyone. :)
