Feathers, head dresses, and plumes

I just was looking at a mini of someone else\'s and I am curious how one would go about casting or molding a head - dress or a feather plume

Here are some images of what I was thinking about

I am curious about what techniques people would use as I am purely a warhammer fantasy lizardman collector and their army is loosly based on Aztec culture. In the past I have obtained various high-elf bits and empire bits and green-stuffed the feathers on usually 1 or 2 at a time, but for a warchief or what not I would like to have the entire head - dress go down the small of his back

Personally I think I\'d be using a former out of shaped plasticard (Styrene Sheet to you Yanks) and using that as the basis on which to sculpt green stuff feathers.
Or of course you could just sculpt individual feathers and glue them on separately.

like dr, i would use some wort or armature. maybe plasticard, wire or just a thin bit of gs. then layer over it with fresh gs when everything is dry

I don\'t know the artist or the manufacturer of the minis. But here\'s the voting page:

yes exactly what I want like those.... is that pewter?

My first thought was to take thin wire and get the overall shape I was looking for and then put the feathers as green stuff

I didn\'t know if that would make the overall appearance I was looking for my second thought was to cut a thin piece of plastic (packaging from GW blisters) to form a basic shape of what I was thinking about then mold greenstuff around the piece

I was also thinking of doing it with clay, then putting it into the oven for 15 minutes to harden it.

I think it will be a long project and hopefully I can get it right.
