Well I have learnt so much in the last few months that I find my mind is now wanting to paint things that I do not have the skill or xp to do at the moment:(. this had lead to a very frustated few days where all I feel i am learning now is how to strip a model:D
So it is back to basics sort of I am going to paint this slayer using my old darkest to lightest painting but with the thin paints and layers I have learnt. The one thing I will be trying is NMM.
Here is the figure the pictures are for contast (some are out of focus but give the light/dark anyway).
I plan to take my time when hes done hes done no rush no dead line.

I know the feeling Exiles, the wealth of mini painting knowledge out there can be a bit overwhelming after a while. Very sensible to sit back & relax with a figure you feel comfortable with & intend to finish. I bet you\'ll see a massive improvement over the last time you painted your old way. Looking forward to seeing the dwarf progress, B.

you may also notice after my painful lesson in removing figures from the painting block I have gone for the lock joint on a block approach much easier to put in and remove and only couple of quid for 8 :D

Not bad! Personally when I paint skin from dark to light I use a more neutral greyish brown basecoat and introduce more reddish tones in the midtones instead (often with glazing). But that\'s more about style I guess. He looks suitable angry :D

That\'s getting there. The gold NMM could do with going lighter (hot spots) and deeper shadows (add a touch of purple to the shadows).

I\'m finding the eye\'s a little off putting, they could be tidied up a little. Just dwarf flesk/grey/purple mix as a shade in the deepest parts of the eyesocket.

The colours are all working together well though :D

Lookin\' good Exiles, and annoyingly quick too :D Put in the time for those final careful touches, pop him onto a nice base & he should sit very prettily in the Gallery. I\'m expecting someone who knows better than me about NMM to suggest pure white on the hotspots & darker browns on the gold shadows but we shall see. B.

Looks good, I like the progress. I will say that the red hair looks unnatural, I would try to basecoat him with more of an orange. The axe needs some blending, but I really like where he\'s at.

Ok done with this one now about 13 hours of work but I need to take longer still on my figures to get smoother blends.
The pictures dull out alot of the hair colour but will try to get better pictures taken and get it on my gallery.
thank you for following and see you on the nest WIP.
