So I've decided to start a log of my current projects mainly because I'm bored and have way to much time on my hands!

In this picture I just finished getting the rusty metal look for when I do the hairspray technique.

good used look to that door, my advice with the hairspray method...be careful lol i used it on a sniper rifle for my sniper biker wip and completely overdid it. the damned thing looked like it had spent about a hundred years at the bottom of the sea lol.

Yeah, with salt masking less is more! Just use your fingers to sprinkle the salt a pinch at a time onto the hairspray.

I've finished taking off the salt on the other doors and its looking great! I'll have more pictures posted tonight.

Hey guys here is the update!

I just threw it together with sticking tack to get a feel for how its looking
and I'm pretty excited with how its coming along

I did some highlighting on this door and painted up the emblem still have to put some weathering on emblem so it don't stand out so much.

Some fancy hazard stripes

I magnetized the guns!

This emblem is gonna be throw on the door

This killa kan is almost done, got the shoulder pads and a few touch ups left.

So I got quite a bit done today, but I'm worn out so I'm done for today here are some pictures of how its coming along.

I dry fitted it together for some pictures, most the doors are finished

As you can see I have much to do still :S
I'm gonna use gimiak's rusty gold tutorial for the uprights.
I'm trying to have it done for the weekend, I'm having game and I want to use it

Here are all the guys I have left to do, most are from christmas some I picked up a bit before the holiday, as you can see I have a lot of work ahead of me, I also just ordered a bunch of blood angel's characters and some of the new skavens

So I'm very disappointed with myself, as I was assembling my drop pod I made a huge mistake and now the doors don't line up so when the doors are closed on the drop pod it looks like junk also I noticed that as the doors open and close its rubbing of some paint where the door touches man I suck! but I guess its a learning experience it was my first drop pod so maybe next time I'll get it done right! Any ways I'll probably have pics up of the completed disaster in the next few days.

Sorry to hear it as it was looking good up to that point! Did you already dullcoat it? If not that may help with the paint rubbing off problem. Although if they're really not lining up and rubbing hard against another part probably won't. Also, did you magnetize the doors? If not, would the magnet's force maybe be enough to pull them in tight and make it look better? (Plus a bit of reworking down around the hinge as Chrome suggested in your other thread?) Or as a last resort maybe force it back straight and glue half the doors closed to hold it, then you'd still have some doors to open and show off the interior.

sorry to hear that too i left you a link to beastofwar.com john (rollingthunder) does most of their tutorials it might be of some use to you

the paint looks really well there mate but i would do scorch marks on all the projecting suraces for that used orbital entry look, if you could light it up from the bottom that would show where to apply the scorching effect

Hey, guys thanks for the help and encouragement I wasn't able to make it perfect but it it does fit better, looks a bit crooked tho.

As you can see I had to use green stuff to feel the cracks from ripping it apart multiple times :S once everyting is painted I'm thinking I'll apply a scorching effect with my airbrush from the bottom

After I messed up on the drop pod I took a break from it for a bit and started on some other projects I finished my Killa Kan.

I think I went a bit over board with the blood effect.

I tried to convert him a bit so he look like he was running!

just sitting side ways with his crew the few bad moon orks I painted up

I also started on a new Captain for my Blood Angels army it was my first time repositioning the legs I'm not too happy with the way I sculpted the vents but I figure with practice I'll get better here are some pictures after around an 1- 1.5 of painting

Space Marine Captain!!

Here some photos of my Finished Space Marine/ Blood Angels Captain he is armed with a combi-flamer and power sword tell me what you think of him!!!

Download IrfanView for free (Windows).
Launch Irfanview.
Image menu - Create Panarama Image.
Select Vertical.
Select images 1, 2 & 3.
Click Create Image.
File menu - Save As...

Completed drop pod!!!

I finally finished the drop pod my only disappointment was that I couldn't get the doors to line up better but any ways here it is.

I did a bit of a scorched effect on the bottom it didn't show up to great on the photos.
