hey. first time poster here...looking for some tips.

I\'m working on a Dark Angels army, and im really not impressed with the standard GW dreadnought. Too boxy and bulky for my liking, and i\'ve seen some out there with leg/arm conversions i like:

i dont like the look of the really long legs...kinda more of a fan of something like this:

My ideas so far consist mainly of either taking a gaurd Sentinal\'s legs and replacing the dread\'s legs with those, as in one of the above pictures, but i think i\'d rather lower the hips a bit as in the last picture above.

as for the arms, i\'m kind of lost in the dark. i was thinking of converting an old close-combat arm into a plasma cannon or similar, but still keeping the jointed arm part.

Any feedback would be fantastic!

Welcome to the forums.

You could order some arms from forgeworld. If you are going to be scratchbuilding them then get yourself some plasticard and thin rods. Its a little too early in the morning for me to be thinking about this *yawns* erm, sorry I\'m not much help. Maybe you could start a works in progress thread and post some pics to show people how your getting along. I\'m sure you will get lots of advice from other folk.

Good luck with your DA force. ;)

For cheap Dreadnought parts, you could just buy old heavy weapons or dreadnought pasrts from the old Space crusade game - then you can add details etc with plasticard and GS later.

I\'d recommend keeping the top part of the arm to fit snugly though.

Sounds promising overall - keep us updated :)

the one you single out as being a fan of is a straightforward Forgeworld dread so if you were after something like that then you could just buy one!

I Like the first one RD (The other one is nice too but I like the first one better) but its not very SM.

Why dont you just scratch build one. You can buy plastic card and rods etc from the hobby store and go to town.

Post pics.
