Dreadfleet

I'm currently painting up Dreadfleet. Actually, I'm painting up Dreadfleet x2. Really got into it yesterday and did a longer painting session than I have in years. Probably 12-13 hours. I got loads done. I've taken pics of everything I've made progress with so far. Not the best quality, but I'll do proper focused stuff when I'm finished.

The airbrush is helping out a ton with this stuff. Trying to be quite systematic in my approach and make things as easy as they can be. A few of the remaining ships are going to need to be done a bit more traditionally, but so far so good. I'm pretty pleased with the look of the bases too. Adding a few different washes of colour have made them much more interesting. :)

Excellent work:)

I got my copy today and it looks good. Not as good as Space Hulk, but worth the coin I feel.

I like airbrushing for the reliable results it provides, and combined with detailing can be unbeatable. It looks like the other sails have raised portions which I assume you will detail as well? The (white) sails you have done so far look great.

I could definitely get behind this if GW indicated it was more than a passing phase. Perhaps FW could pick it up and do some different releases? Here's hoping.

Morning folks. Here's the scenery, shipwrecks and another ship done.

Benihana - All the sails need to have the detailing done. Still plenty of work to be done on them.

Really nice work, it is consistent between the two sets. I wish I had the cash to get this game, but I hope it will do well and they will expand on it.

Looking really good particularly how the paint job seems quite stylised rather than realistic which adds to the sort of twilight real fantasy setting of the game.

Nice! I got mine yesterday (thankfully the UPS man left it on my back doorstep) and started tidying up the ghost ship. Really nice plastics, just a crying shame you can't buy sprues on their own.

Well, if you need anything in particular - http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/figoth/m.html ;)

Can you tell which auctions were put up by me and which are the gf's doing? :D

Went to bed crazy early today feeling ill and just woke up feeling hungry but much better. I wonder how much painting I can get done in the six or so hours before have to get ready for work. And more importantly, will my airbrush compressor wake up the missus if I risk using it? Not sure I dare running the risk and finding out!

Wow, looks GREAT! A few of the pictures are broken (to me at least), but what I can see looks amazing. The Tomb Kings one is my favorite.

lono,
Couple of questions for you:
1. What paint are you using?
2. How are you thinning it for airbrushing (denatured alcohol? Airbrush thinner? Do the paints even need to be thinned?)
3. What pressure are you spraying at?

I didn't see this covered in this thread, so apologies if it was covered somewhere else!
