Ogres need not be a pain a unit of Ogre Bulls can be as small as three minis so I think most people could manage that.

Ogre lead belchers are a unit of 2-5 models.

The Gnoblars arethe biggest for minimum unit size 20+ unless you go for Gnoblar trappers where the unit size then falls to 8+.

There are enough different models that people who want to do single minis can do things like Maneaters the only problem that I can see is that not all the models are released yet and indeed some will not be released until Feb.

The core unit boxes should start hitting the shelves very soon I think the Batallion box is already out and some releases including the Tyrant should start from this weekend.
I am going to GWHQ tomorrow and will check on what is available UK wise, my funds are somewhat limited (owing to a very expensive car service) but I may be able to help the overseas people a little.

Actually I\'m working to finish a miniature for an auction with a similar intention (http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=6965) but if you dont mind to add an Italian painter to the list I will join also this initiative ;)

hmmmm, the more I look at ogre kingdoms, I\'m really not thrilled about the range of minis, but if everyone wants to do it, I\'m of course a happy follower.

As a side note, go look at bases! and decide which would be good for our project.

Just a quickie, if it is definately going to be Ogres I intend to go to GWHQ tomorrow as i said and my main reason for going is to get the Ogre Battallion Box now all I realy need out of this are the lead belchers so if anybody wants some Gnoblars / Bulls / Ironguts then let me know via pm.
I was going to use them into increase my army size but this is a far more deserving cause than me trying to obliterate anything the WHFB world can throw at me. :D

I\'m willing to join in on this one. Are the orges the final decision then, I think it definetly has to be GW for sale purposes, but a chaos army would also be a good idea for painting purposes as I think they would look quite good in a non uniformed theme. I do think some sort of quidelines for the paint scheme would have to be put down whatever is done though, what does anyone else think.

Hola people.

Ms. Haye asked about whether the money was going to asia or whatnot and as far as I know, not specificially, but most likely, would be the answer. I believe Becca and I were talking about it going to the Red Cross in general. That being said, if it did, most likely it would go to asia anyhow but I\'m not too concerned with where it actually goes. Heck, Cedric and Becca might have come up with something else in the time that I\'ve spoken with them.

Anyhow, it seems that both GW and Warmachine have generated the most interest out of the miniatures that are involved. I personally don\'t find too much of GW that I like at the moment BUT the Ogre Kingdoms sound quite interesting as I stated before. If those can be gotten, I would be quite interested in those.

Witchhunter army also has a special place for me as I think those miniatures have a lot of character and I believe would sell well.

As for Warmachine, that line has some great miniatures that I think would fit the bit rather well, Cryx seems to have some of the more interesting miniatures so that is where my vote would lay on that.

As for a timeline, I think once we actually have the miniatures in hand we should probably put a time of a month or so on it, which will give everyone enough time to get the bugger painted up and off to whomever is picturing it and selling it.

I know you can have the Red Cross ear-mark the funds for Tsunami victums only.

i totally agree with the color combination but i think it would be neat if we did it like \"you have to use blue, green and yellow\" and leave where they use it up to the individual person

i dont know if ogres are the final descision, i would like to have some more ideas thrown around and then start a poll, to make it \"official\"

then we can start once we figure all these things out. and we have 21 people. anyone else wanna make the army bigger?

you know the saying, there is always room for one more!:flip:

I definately agree that an evil/dirtier type force is needed, witchhunters for example would be difficult to pull off, as they are supposed to be very uniform in color scheme. For ogres, chaos, or even orks, just picking a 2-3 main colors and going with it should work.

Actually that will only insure that the red cross will use those fund in asia if needed, but if they feel that ATM they don\'t need to spend it in asia it will be redirected to another cause. I think that if you check around on their site you can find the info.

I\'m not a really big poster(I only post when I think it\'s needed), bud I owuld like to join too. But Why don\'t you/we paint a Dogs Of War armys, cause it holds, dwarfs, halflings, witchhunters, marauders, ogre\'s(and lot\'s of them  ). And wel, I\'m wkilling to paint allmost everything except skaven(got thraumatised :|~ ).

Just let me now what to paint etc., and I\'ll look through my bitzbox cause I have models of allmost every race except Ogre Kingdoms. But as I already was planning to buy some ogre\'s to use them as a Chaos Ogre substitude.

Oviously we don,t want to limit peoples imagination to much so I think 2-3 main colours is a good idea and what you do with these colours is up to painter, hopefully it will still be fun but also an interesting challenge. The main thing is trying to make as much money as possible and a completly random array of colour choices would probaly put people off.

@ Br. Tom

i agree, 2 or 3 colors just to make it look like the army/skirmish thing that it needs to

but allow creativity enough to make each one different.

are there any other ideas about what to paint?

Maybe we could make 3 or 4 different army\'s and sell them. I guess that\'s better so people who like to paint dwarfs or elves(just an example) can paint the unit(s) they like. And I think we could get more maney with that.
