Does size count?

Hi there a little while back i stitched together 4 pics and was reasonably pleased with the result (being the first time I’ve done any sort of picture editing) but when I came to submit the pic on here I noticed I was well in excess of the file size restrictions.
We are limited to 200kb while the pic is over 600kb and already the quality of the photo is far less than the originals.

Anyway forget about my moaning, I just want to know how to make the file size smaller.
Just in case it matters the original photos were taken with a 2MP fugi camera, and the editing was done with Photoplus 6.0

It depends on the way the images are compressed. Photoshop for example has a very nice jpg compressor in its \"save for web\" feature. There you can get large images in a reasonable quality. I don\'t know what kind photoplus have. Did you limit the picture to 600pixels wide?

You can also post links in the description of your entry to bigger pics that you\'ve uploaded on a file host site.

Or instead of uploading your pics on CMON, you can link them directly, but you need to respect the 600 pixel width constraint and know that if you\'re pics take too long to load, they\'ll automatically be reported and probably removed.

Thanks guys. Yeah unfortunately the photo is already under 600 wide and I think I used a save for internet feature already. I think I\'ll just have to start again...:(

Woohoo well after a bit of extra fiddling I\'ve managed to work it out, wasn\'t that hard in the end:bouncy:
And (drumroll...) Here are the results http://www.coolminiornot.com/142477
Thanks again for the help. Tell me what you think.
