Doctor John Watson - Infamy Miniatures

Hello boys and girls. My 2,000th post on this wonderful site and to celebrate the milestone I may as well pimp out another Infamy model. :D

I'm very pleased to show Doctor John Watson who is at 32mm scale and was sculpted in frankly stunning detail by MIKH. If you like the look of the model please check out my indiegogo campaign and help me get him cast up.

Doctor John Watson provides a level of terror to the command structure of the Baker Street Irregulars. He is the twisted, extreme and somewhat psychotic counterbalance to the calculated threat and intellect of Holmes.

Rightly feared for his experimental surgical procedures, evolving and increasingly convoluted torture techniques, it is when Watson combines his brawn with Sherlock's brain that total carnage is guaranteed on the streets of London.

So far I'm doing well in the campaign and it looks like I'll hit my goal. If I do, the new mission will be to surpass it by... well, as much as possible really. That will mean that I can do a bigger casting run and also start to look at options for more models.

If you can offer your support you will get yourself some fine rewards (models cheaper than their rrp and with no shipping costs for example) and help me build the Infamy Miniatures range. Even if you don't contribute it'd be great if you'd share it with your friends.

I'll update the campaign with more exciting stuff soon, like stretch goals and perhaps even new perks.

Impressive.

I'm wondering what the results for Irene Adler, Mrs Hudson and Inspector Lestrade will be like.
As for the Hound of the Baskervilles

So far all the Infamy minis have been excellent, and Watson is no exception. You really seem to have gotten off to a flying start with your company. Long may it continue!

Thanks for the kind words. It's wonderful that other people are finding the Infamy models as exciting as I do.

The speed I've hit my goal has taken me by surprise a little. Now I'm past it I'm looking to build on it, so I've added Stretch Goals to the campaign. Anyone who contributes will get extras if we hit the new targets. Anyone who has already made a pledge - thank you very much! :) I really am so appreciative. Hopefully this campaign will keep on building and I can take it beyond my initial expectations. If the later stretches I have in mind happen, I will be able to do some very cool new mini things ahead of my planned schedule.

To summarise, if you want to get cool Infamy stuff cheaper and bonuses on top, you should contribute to the campaign! :) http://www.indiegogo.com/infamy-watson

montka - MIKH uses Fimo over a duro base and lots of brass tubing too. I think he uses a few other clays for the harder parts so he can get firmer edges.

Mike - I've got plans for a few of the characters you mention, but they aren't going to happen really soon. There are lots more gangs that need building up first, then some more universal folks to populate the world. Thugs, repair droids, street urchins, automatons, etc.

Is it all going to be this quality and price? Are there going to be any less fancy troops who aren't 'special characters'?

It's all going to be high quality of course. Not all quite as high quality as these minis though (and by that I mean that the insanely intricate sculpts are about as crazy detailed and complex as you can get!) because there will be more basic 'rank and file' troops.

The way I'm designing it, the prestige, named characters (the gang leaders, deputies and other special characters) are all very high-detail, high-quality resin models and will stand out because of that. The more basic troopers - eg The thugs, repair droids, street urchins, automatons, etc. that I mentioned in my previous post - will be less complex, cheaper and possibly produced in a different material. I'm right on the cusp of working all those details out.

For now, there are a few more interesting resin models due though. :)

Hello everyone!

The campaign is going great guns and is closing in on $3,500 right now, which is totally awesome. There are all sorts of bonuses that you can get by contributing as stretch goals have already been hit. I'll also be adding some new perks in a few days, so keep 'em peeled. :) http://www.indiegogo.com/infamy-watson

Also, Javier Gonzalez has done a flat out amazing job painting the model. Here are a few shots. You can see more on the Infamy Miniatures Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/infamyminis
