Hey mate... don\'t worry about it...

I seem to get sniped every time I put a mini up...

I put up an ork shaman a few weeks ago which took about 30hrs to paint and model... it got sniped, but evened out at 8.9 after 50 votes...

This week I put up my ork warboss which took almost 100hrs to paint and model and which I felt was far better than the shaman in the hope it\'d be my first ever 9.0 or above...

it\'s on 8.4 the last time I checked having ben sniped within the first ten minutes of being put up.

As so many have said... it is far more about the photographs than the actual model or painting quality.

40% photography

20% personal taste

40% quality of the actual mini

IMHO

DanseMacabre are you italian? Like me? I saw your Skaven Grey Seer and i think that\'s a very good job. Are you part of the legiopictorum forum too?

The purifier of Hod (from your first set) is hanging over the base. He would be better put on an angle so his feet would fit the base.

The second set
It seems the pics are not quite in focus.
I like the base work.
I don\'t think you helped the NMM.
The orangish tones in the background are fighting with the oranges in the minis. A neutral grey might be better.
The look a lot like your first set (at first glance) and therefore have lost an originality factor.

Just my thoughts.

To me they both look the same, or very similar. It looks more like you have rebased the first lot than painted a totally new set. I think the problem is compounded by the fact that (in my opinion) the first lot are scoring higher than I would have expected.

Averaging a 9 is a golden number in my opinion and really takes a lot to get.

Look at the following for good examples of 9.0s

I mean no disrespect by this, but am just saying that your minis are good, but not quite a 9... yet!

Peter said exactly what I was going to say.

First lot are over rated IMO. Second slighlty under rated.
I would give 8 for each set.

Hey, thanks, appreciate that... it\'s always good to get positive feedback from someone else who\'se work you really like.

There are a few jerks (snipers) on CMON (as any public hobby forum) but the vast majority of people are really great.... there is so much tallent and expertise on this site you really can learn just about everything (well, about painting and modelling minis anyway) from the folks on here.

Thanks again

I have noticed that when I have resubmitted pictures of the same mini, I always get a much lower score, even though the pictures are much better. I think the voters are a lot of the same people and since they have already seen it, they give it a lower score. I know these are different figures but they are the same mini and a very similar scheme and people probably viewed them as old news.

My opinion of the minis: I think this second lot is a good 9. The bases are excellent, how did you do them? I really have trouble with basing and I really like the look of this technique. The blue cloaks are beautiful. The leather is a little bit too orange which also could have turned off some voters (don\'t know though, just a thought). All around great minis, good luck on ebay.

As I have yet to become the proud owner of a digital camera, I have not posted any of my own pics. But...your work is worlds better than mine! Very good stuff, and don\'t be discouraged, I just saw the votes, and your score is climbing. Hang in there!

The bases are made in this way: i found some nice stones in the street, but they was too much big, so i made them in pieces with an hammer, then joined the parts to build a new stone base, then a bit of green stuff in the holes and a bit of grass. For the color... base of black. dry brush of codex gray, then dry brush of white, was of bestial brown and finally dry bush of bleached bone (all this for the bases of the second gruop) The bases of the first group are made with green stuff
