I was perusing CMON, when I came across this mini:

immediately my alarms went off, as I recognized it as one of Jarrett\'s (Shroud\'s) minis, but with no thanks to him. Here\'s Jarrett\'s mini: (it\'s on the left)

However now I\'m beginning to believe less that it is Jarrett\'s. Aside from the base, The NMM is stronger, and the brown seems different. Also the syringes are different. Also, they are both based off the official paintjob, so it could be a coincidence. What\'s your opinion?

OMG that is an awesome game! I\'m busy reading the whole thing, if I can manage a game with a few friends I wil! Ooh, I\'m cooking up all kinds of evil stuff in my head lol

It is one of my favorite games. Course I haven\'t played in about 15 years but still, it is great.

The two pics are very similar as you say, but since they are both done to what you called the \"official paintjob\" I will give the benefit of the doubt and just call them similar.

Both are painted extremely well, though.

There are also some slight differences in the highlights of the NMM mask that makes me think they\'re two different yet similar miniatures.

Wonderful work from both of them. (I think Shroud\'s miniatures are a bit far away; with his work, I\'d much prefer closer shots.)

Look at teh syringes.. Jarret\'s one starts with a light blue, then red, then green.. The other one has red then black then red again. And the mask is done totally different, so if this person wanted to steal a paint job for their own, they\'re doing a heck of a job changing it. I think the one in question just saw Jarret\'s job and copied the paint scheme, or like Jarret, tried to do the offical paint job but didn\'t use the exact paints (the offical one is slightly green).

The verdict.

Jarrett says it isn\'t his mini, just another one based off the official paint scheme. Everone can calm down now. That\'s right, move along, nothing to see here.

Good good young apprentice. I shall take you under my wing... hmm, I seem to be lacking in wings, well, I\'m sure you can kind of squeeze up under my sleeve. ok, excelent.

I looked at the peices that this artist has posted. Would someone else look at this too?

See, I\'m not sure if what I\'m seeing is a gradual progression of ability over the last year, or the work of more than one painter.

There is some difference in quality between best and worst but that would apply to all of us...

If you want to see real development, just browse through kevd82\'s gallery and see how far he developed in a couple of years.

*EDIT* Oh sh*t! you can\'t...he\'s taken it down. But I am sure there are others...any nominations?

Zaphod is a good candidate for that if you ask me. His last few months especially have been a tremendous jump in skill level (not that he wasn\'t good in the first place).

I also humbly submit that I have made progress, though my gallery is not really in chronological order. If you look at my pieces, most of those I label as \'older work\' are two or so years old, as opposed to say, the fire giant or Ametrine Earthlyte, my latest two pieces.

Um, Darth, Zah0d\'s a she. Yes, I know the HGG character is male, but not the painter. Check her avatar.
