Hey guys, finished this piece this morning thought I\'d make it my first submission. Being my first I\'ve not gone through the process of uploading before and sat on the part where you rate your own mini for a little while pondering what I actually thought of it myself ??? decided in my own opinion a solid 7, pretty please with how he turned out, just loved painting this sculpt, have the other commissar pose ready to be primed and stuck into.

My latest Forgeworld order came this morning too, added a sheet of brass imperial eagles into the order for kicks, so I stuck one on the plinth hehe.

Camera hasn\'t seemed to pickup the red tones too well =/ any thoughts, comments or crits would be appreciated, thanks.

yeah My fave color to paint with is red and it never seems to photograph well but your seems good, nice and deep.

nice i like the way the base is very almost monochromatic and doesn\'t detract form the mini. i think it would be a little better if there was more colour as it got closer to the model, as if the rest of it is brought out of focus

@freak, yeah I limited the base to 2 colours (grey/brown) with a couple of shades within those colours, in hope that the red would draw the eye to the figure over the muted ground, I\'ll have a play with the one im working on now with regards more colour toward the actual figure on the base and see how it turns out cheers.

maybe to bring out the aquilla on the base run a bit of a black wash into the recess and do some brass polish around the outside? i dunno
