Difference in Vallejo Paints

Hi All,

Bit of a basic question here, what is the difference between Vallejo's Model Colour and Game Colour ranges?

I wanted to expand my paint range and was planning to get one of their big box sets but I don't know which would be the better one to go for!

Cheers!!

Game Color is thinner, more medium, stronger ( more scratch resistant ), more vibrant and has 72 colors. Model color has 220 colors! More greys and browns than any paint line, more pigments means zero chalking if you thin it so much and is pain free to use. :)

Game colour contains most of the colours from the last range of Citadel paints where as (as DC23 says) model colour has a much larger range and generally more muted colours.

Personally I wouldn't buy the boxed sets as you'll only use a fraction of the range. I've actually bought a case of VMC and VGC and actually regret it as I barely use any of them now. Instead I'd cherry pick colours as you go. Cost wise it will likely cost more per pot than buying a case, however as you're only going to be buying the colours you "need" the overall cost will be less and you'll end up with a selection that suits what you paint & how. You might even end up with a selection of different paint manufacturers.
