Dark green MARINE armour?
A la Dark angels?

Or fantasy sort of armour?

I take you want a technique rather than just using gloss varnish?

Look up the tutorials on NMM in the Articles section and substitute Green for the effect.
Make sure that you get a Flare of White in the right place as the ulitmate Highlight.

Ahh, I suspected you meant something like that...

I have an (EVER ONGOING! lol) WIP along the same lines:

I suggest first basecoating your figure and then dampening it with water, and taking a photo with a flash at the angle you want the light shining in order to see where the highlights and shadows are.

EDIT: Looking at my old WIP, the pics don\'t seem to be working, so I\'ll see if I have one to add now...

EDIT: Here you - This is as far as I got before I got side-tracked :p

Only thing I would suggest is to make sure alot of the original dark green is left... looking at brokenblades model, he builds up the shines, but leaves plenty of dark color to make it look shinier... and also like Dragonsreach suggests, a fine white or almost white highlight would surely finish it off~

I think people have seen the color combos that were used for the black armor on the chaplain by now.

I will put a brief description of how I work here :
The key to my technique is to approach it as if the miniature was a watercolor, using very controlled glazes. Glazes don\'t have to be darker... they can also be used to lighten or highlight colors.

Certain brands and even colors of paint are more conducive to this, however, and the only way I was able to find out is through mass amounts of trial and error!

My training was as a watercolor portrait artist, in case anyone was wondering about the obsession with watercolor techniques!lol

Here is one example also of why I paint in NMM/// there are no metallic paints in watercolors;)

cool site..........love the stain glass art...

depending on the effect you want you could substitute the colours for greens or do it as on the black using grey shades and then glaze with green watered down paint ..several coats untill you get the effect....

@Dan sorry dude I removed them from my photobucket the other day having a spring clean forgot to check that the WIP was still active so the pics will be gone.
