Nice job especially the eagle on the door. This part of the rhinos are often neglected and not painted so it's good.

thank you. you know that eagle is a glossed over transfer..... This is my first paint and I am finding it hard to draw the line as to detail and completion.

I would say for your first paint, it looks like your on the right track. as I don't know in how far your finished i would recommend trying to work on more highlights.
and i agree that that eagle looks cool, especially on the inside! and also i think its great that you immediatly try this sort of detail in your first paint :D

Not a painting thing as such, but in future, you might like to try drilling out the gun barrels, it takes a couple of minues and doesn't hurt at all.

It's looking good so far man, but if your really concerned about the brush strokes, you might want to try adding some flow aid to the paint/water mix.

I do have one question, did you intend to get that marble-ish effect on the inside of the pred, or was it just coincidence?

Try to thin your paint a bit. I paint dark angels myself, so i understand the anxiety of getting the basecoat fast, but it's better to spend more time, you can really get a smooth nice finish even with a brush if you do more thin layers.

Rugne. drilling the barrel would add some nice realism what size bit do you think? The inside was supposed to be just dirty, and at this point most of my succeses are as happenstance as my failures! I did a orkhide base and then bleached bone and both gryphon and baddab washes. I put the sepia on first let it set for a few secs and then dabbed it with T.P. then the black wash over that....

Well, the size of the drill bit is really going to depend on the size of the weapon, not having a pred with heavt bolters to hand, I can't say a specific size, but I would try to match the size of the vent ports on the side of the barrel, you can't go too far wrong then.

You might find that adding some flow aide to your paint/water mix will help with the brush strokes, as well as using thinner paint.

I have a bottle of ready made mix for my paint, it's 1 part slo-dry, 1 part flo aide and 2 parts deionised water, you might want to give it a try.

Nice work I like the weathering effect how the paint looks like its worn off in places. the DA wing on the sponson lasguns is cool too. Is that plasticard or what.

Nope, I took a dagger-and-wings from DA Upgrade Sprue, cutted off a dagger, which gave me 2 nice wings (I painted them (Fenris Grey, 1:1 mix FG and SW grey, SWG and highlighted with pure Skull White). I was also planning to put a dagger itself somewhere, but didn't come up with ideas where to put it :)

so i did some more work on my DA predator this weekend its coming along fairly well. I am having a hell of a time on the bleached bone strip around the hull i have gone back and retouched the edges numerous times and im still not totaly pleased with the sharpness of the transition lines. I think ill have to mask them to get it nice and crisp. I did some snot green highlites and i like the effect. Well let me know what you all think so far!
