Hi all,

These guys go cheap on eBay, so i picked up a bunch for practice. I've started 2 so far, this one is the third, and I'm determined to finish at least one!

I've attempted to recreate the texture of a heavy woven fabric, like a monks robe. I am fairly content with it at the moment, but i would like to continue the texture into the shaded areas, and maybe reduce the thickness of some of the lines.

All Comments and criticism is more than welcome!

WIP update 01

Hi all,

I've been making some slow progress on this guy, been lots of fun to paint. I decided on a more limited color selection than I have seen other paint this mini, and decided on trying to use the dark green as much as possible.

I was thinking of trying a little OSL on the power field generators on the power-sword, but i may leave them, haven't decided yet.

Thanks for looking, and all comments and criticism welcome!

WIP update 02

Hi All,

Finished up on this guy, practised some NMM gold and some of the other details.
Not 100% stoked with the NMM, gonna have to keep practising, but I'm pretty pleased how he has turned out so far. Next up is basing, which I'm planning on doing in a snow/rocky theme.

I'm not well practiced in nmm or cloth texture but that looks pretty good to me, I think the sword could use some smoother blending to get that metal looking a bit better but as I say, not my forte

Yeah, I see what you mean, might need some more contrast? might bring the highlights up to a pure white.

Thanks for looking!

Hi all,

Finished the base on this guy. I felt a snow base would look cool, and it was an excuse to try out GW's Valhallan Blizzard!

Had a lot of fun with this model, and I learned a lot from attempting the texture, and working with the green (he is my first DA).

Apologies for the phone-camera pics, I think i will have to brush up on my picture taking skills!

Huge thank you to those who took the time to view this thread, and/or commented - your input and encouragement was invaluable!

Cheers,
