Crazy Harry Project with the rest of his gang

Hey everyone, I am looking for some suggestions to improve this model. This is my version of a goblin wolf rider with Brimstone Babbles (makes the goblin explode when he dies). I figured that he would look cool strapped with dynamite, and with a flowing cape used to partly conceal the explosives. In one hand he will hold a torch, the other... to be determined.

I am not happy with the look. The dynamite looks a bit big. I am looking for constructive critism, and ideas. Thanks.

Thoughts?

One last thing... I am trying to keep the entire model either GW or scratch built.

How about replacing the dynamite with a ceg of gunpowder strapped to the gobbo\'s back? It would fit better with the imagery of the warhammer world.

That is a great idea. The dynamite was from the dwarven miners plastic set, but I am not happy with the look. I am not sure if one keg would work but maybe three smaller ones strapped onto his back.

To be honest, I like the idea of the selfdestructing goblin, but I don\'t like the dynamite. How about giving him bags of mushrooms attached to his back and on the wolf? And Perhaps a bigga \'shroom in one hand? That would be really cool and crazy lol

The item he has is the Brimstone Bauble. The description reads, \"Originally taken from the charred corpse of a Dark Elf corsair, this gemstone unleashes furious magical energy on anyone foolish enough to strike it bearer.\"

I envisioned something a little more creative than just an exploding gemstone, to give the model more interest.

The mushrooms sounds like an interesting idea, though I am not sure how to make them look like they are exploding.

I want to make the model have a fantasy look to it, so I am not sure what just the wire in the other hand would do without a light source.

Another source of inspiration is the expoding berserker orcs in LoR\'s, the ones that helped breach Helms Deep. I would like something that portrays the crazy, suicidal goblin running up to his opponent.

I think any Goblin running towards his opponent can be considered crazy and suicidal...

Anyway you might be better off trying to recreate the \"I\'m robbing this bank and I\'ve got a dynamite vest on just to prove how well I thought this plan through\" look. Some thin plastic rod/tubes and some string is probably all you need if you go that route. Lots of options at your average model shop, tons of sizes in small increments.

Anyway what else is this guy supposed to be equipped with? Shield? Spear? Armor?

The actual model I use in my games actually doesn\'t even wear armor. He rides a wolf and has the brimstone baubles. That\'s it. Cheap & effective.

I think the suggestion of small thin plastic tubes and \"string\" (I have stuff that mimicks twisted rope) that would probably look the part.

Now what should I have in his hands? I was thinking a torch in one hand, and use the stick of dynamite from the GW Ork Kommandos. What do you think?

I think the Kommando dynamite could very easily work. You might not need any kind of vest or anything if you have the Kommando weapon.

That is a good point. Maybe the kommando dynamite would be enough. I have the model on order... should be in and ready for pickup tomorrow.

Here is my start on my wolf rider unit. I was inspired by Sister123 on CMON when I was looking on ideas on how to paint \"Crazy Harry\":

I wasn\'t going to put so much effort into this unit until I saw the amazing job she did on her unit.

I am still in the process of converting the wolf riders. The wolves and their bases are ready to start painting. I initially \"slopped\" some paint on them to start trying to figure out my color scheme.

Sorry the pictures are a bit dark. I haven\'t had the opportunity to setup my photo area yet.

Any suggestions/comments for these miniatures would be appreciated.

I plan on doing a lot of the painting of these miniatures during my Christmas vacation. In the mean time, I\'ll continue to work the conversions on the wolf riders and Crazy Harry.
