Continuous Storyline

Are the scenarios included possible to create one continuous story line as to when the tutorial ends, 01 begins and so on using only the surviving characters from previous scenarios with all of the upgrades and XP that they have gained? Or would this make it extremely difficult and probably unplayable after a few of the scenarios because it would be so difficult because of the high spawn rate of the zombies? Has anyone tried this just to see how far they made it?

Given that the first proper scenario (#01) is probably the hardest, most brutal, of the lot, I don't think you'd get very far.

Nice idea though, and I know some are working such campaign style ideas.

When the zombie alts of the player characters come out next year, there will definitely be a call for a string of scenarios that spawn zombie forms of the player characters as they die. One might design a string of scenarios to have the dead characters replaced by others as they progress, say by rescuing them from the zombies, or finding them in rooms etc.

You can do it. Just because it is harder doesn't mean it is not possible. It may be complicated but as we have found it becomes a challenge to see how much furhter along you can actually get in a scenario.

All you need to do is create a series of rules that govern the campaign. I wouldn't alter game mechanics drastically.

The downloadable campaign gives us a glimpse of how to do a campaign and let Survivors grow as characters. One idea my group has been using is to start each scenario at one threat level lower than when we ended the previous. we also allowed Survivors keep one card from scenario to scenario. The downloadable campaign does similar but only if you end the previous scenario at Red. YIKES! Not only that but they also disallow keeping the rifle with scope, considering it two items. We had just considered it one.

You don't have to have linked maps and such. Scenarios can represent days, weeks, or months apart....

Thank god someone said this. We have played Scenario #1 5 times so far and can only ever get to one last objective and orange level and then we get swarmed and with extra attacks we get wiped. We got sick of Scenario #1 and played Scenario #2 and beat it in less then 10 turns maybe, it was a joke compared to #1, we were wondering if we were screwing up #1 or something.

Did you play the updated version of Scenario #2 (available on the Guillotine Games website), or the version in the rule book?

If the version in the rule book, then you went from the by far hardest scenario to by far the easiest!

But, fear not, most of the rest of the scenarios sit somewhere between the two in terms of difficulty.

One in the book, just downloaded one on GG site to play tonight.

Definitely the easiest of all the Scenarios then - the update doesn't actually make it all that much harder - you've just got to get all the survivors to the exit instead of one.
If you want to make it a more of a challenge, force yourself to go in to the buildings.
